There's been an awakening. Have you felt it? the Dark side... and the Light
I'm reading Paris in the Twentieth Century by Jules Verne. It was written in the 1860s but it's set in 1960, and wasn't published until 1994. In the 20th Century, art has pretty much died out and everyone is concerned with how much money they can earn. Everyone is obsessed with practical things at the expense of beauty.
Sounds a little familiar, come to think of it...

Helios, you wear glasses? This is just weird. All my pals on here do. Blondie, Sammy, Suzy, now you. Why has destiny linked me to eye problems?
I had no clue you were joking. (That was a joke.) <That is a joke. (<No, that is.)
You don't like Tilney? I'm sorry, but I must tie you hand and foot and ship you to Bhudapest in a box.
There we go. Sorry you had to see such violence, Liz. Glad you've read so many. As to erring on the side of fantasy, absolutely! Fantasy is my life. LOTR and Narnia (course) Inheritance Cycle, Percy Jackson (only read the first two so far) Harry Potter, Half Magic, Dragons in Our Midst, and so on.

Wait, who are you talking to, PF?
I am now reading Starship Troopers for school, and memorizing one of the last chapters of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's for a drama-y assignment for school, but I am not a dramatic person by nature, so it will be difficult to recite with expression.

Hey I have glasses!

She rarely wears her glasses, she doesn't like them, opting for contacts. Although she had surgery, so I don't think she wears either anymore... Erm, love you too... kind of.
Yes, I suppose I did spell Budapest wrong.
I'm about done with CS Lewis' Mere Christianity. Incredible book. Inspiring, precise, revelatory. Absolutely has to be in my top ten... Although the painful thing about adjusting that list is always kicking a darling book out. *sob*

What is it with people who don't like glasses? I look terrible without mine.
Aw, you're so sweet. You like me! *snicker smirk*
Actually, you put an H where one does not go. *smirks*
Oooo, Mere Christianity! I tried reading it once, but it's kinda hard. Lewis has a lot of good British humor, which I love, but sometimes he talks in circles (like me).
Have you read Til We Have Faces?

Helios, you've looked at all the pictures of Suzy?
...And I have glasses too.
Mere Christianity is excellent. I started Til We have Faces, but I do not believe I have finished it.
Currently, I am reading a book that a friend of a friend wrote.

Well, yeah, TS, she posted one on the About You thread, and another on the ERK thread. I happen to read a lot of these.

I just finished The Last Thing I Remember (Book 1 of 4) in the Homelander Series.
Ohmahgoodness. It's one of the best books I've read in a while. I read it in 6 and half hours. XD I read fast.

Has anyone ever read Divergent? My friend just finished and she loved it. I really want to read it before the movie comes out, but there are 240 people on the wait list at our library.

Good grief! How many libraries do you have in your town? Not many?
I also wish to read Divergent, so if you ever get your hands on it, please let me know your thoughts.

Let's just say there are a lot of people where I live. But they also have a lot of copies of the book.

I'm reading "The Spider Catcher" by Gilbert Morris. I'm not sure how good it is so far. A little cliche... but maybe it will surprise me.

Have you read his other series, Bethy?? The one with about 40 or so books? I can't remember what it was called, but they were good! unfortunately all the libraries around only go up to book 30 or so, so I'm stuck

Divergent has a ton of kissing in it...and Four's a jerk. But other than that, I wanted to read it.
@ Gratia: Personally, I loved Til We Have Faces. I'm really into Greek mythology (hence my Percy Jackson mania), so to have a novelized version was pure bliss.
Orual goes down as one of my favorite female protagonists. And the lesson she learned in the end is what makes the whole book so valuable, in my opinion.
