A year ago I'd have said something more exciting, but honestly? Right now, I'd pick Wal-Mart so I could use it for groceries and then leave my grocery money in my bank. AKA I WANT CASH TO SAVE, not gift cards to spend, right now.

What would you do with a live lobster, five ten-penny nails, a blank CD, and a set of Crayola markers?

Do you have an item generator that pops these out? I would buy a tank and food for the lobster and love him forebbers. I would toss the nails into a baggy of miscellaneous nails in the laundry room. I would burn happy music onto the CD and mail it to someone I love who deserves all the happiness in the world. I would borrow one of my niece's coloring books, probably the Strawberry Shortcake one I gave her for Christmas, and color something adorable in pinks, blues, and purples.

He did, a year or two ago. Poor woman. Never thought to ask why both of a dude's kids would have nothing to do with him, why his granddaughter isn't in his life? She must be one dumb cookie.

Because when I was little, and we went to seafood restaurants, I always saw the tank of lobsters and heard you could pick your own, and I always thought it meant you could buy one for a pet. I always wanted one. =(

It's okay, I haven't had too many different things. I don't like lobster or crab legs, shrimp is good when it's done right, I've had swordfish which was good. I'm not really into fish, but a good spicy cajun catfish is DELICIOUS.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen?

Hmm. I will keep contemplating this question, but the thing that pops to mind is when I was driving down the highway and came upon something on a giant semi that appeared to be the wing of a plane... I have an account, but I deleted all my pins because apparently it's copyright infringement. SEE, I have a conscience, morals, AND I'm a law-abiding citizen. I was addicted to it while I used it for my own boards, but now I rarely go there. I have a ton of pictures saved though, ideas for crafts and things to do with my niece.

Why do you play an imaginary piano a lot?

I did it to show off when I was a kid; if I do it now, it's just because the song is on my mind, or my hands want something to do.

Nah. I know some people who will like constantly shake their foot or whatever, even when trying to go to sleep. I don't do anything like that, that I am aware of. I do change positions a lot though, but that's different from not being able to sit still.

Mm'kay, so that is a sort of makeshift version of the stage play. I have seen similar productions for Les Miserables and many others and they are typically unimpressive, because it's ALMOST the show, but not quite. I find the way those are filmed to be highly distracting and frustrating.

My introduction to The Phantom of the Opera was with the 2004 film version with Gerard Butler. It's an entirely different feel from the stage version. I fell in love with it for the story, the music, and the visuals. I have a thing for mysterious men, so a guy in a mask is about as good as it gets.

I immediately bought the extended soundtrack and listened obsessively. The music lives and breathes. I was fascinated by the story and kept reading new information about The Phantom that was not mentioned in the movie, so I started digging into other versions.

I've seen probably half a dozen film versions, two separate stage musical interpretations, read the original book, and many unofficial books and fan fictions. What it comes down to for me, is loving the character of The Phantom. He tugs on my heartstrings and ENTHRALLS ME which are two very powerful emotions. As a guy, I can sort of understand if you didn't feel the same pull.

I am fascinated by his background and his actions, in discussing whether or not he is a psychopathic murderer or just a hurt and totally unguided child trapped in the body of a grown man. I'm intrigued in Christine's innocence and superstition, by the strange relationship that builds between them where she's not quite sure if he's the spirit of her father or a red hot man who wants her. There's sort of always the lingering question of does she truly love him? Some swear she does, others swear she only feels terror and anything else is simply her being essentially hypnotized by his music/persona.

A lot of versions of the story are not ones I enjoy. There are horror versions, romance versions, musical and non... That's why loving The Phantom as a character is important to me. Individual versions may butcher the heart of the story, but The Phantom always captures my interest. He is both naive and cunning, heartless and a hopeless romantic. He is selfish yet loving. He is utterly delusional, yet Christine is pulled into the delusion, herself. It's all just fascinating and intricate and beautiful.

The music from Andrew Lloyd Webber's version is stunning. The organ gives me chills every time. "All I Ask of You", while sung by THE EVIL RAOUL whom I detest in lieu of The Phantom, is the most warm and fuzzy song that just makes you want to fall in love and be held in someone's arms forever. So much of the music is addicting and I found it playing in my head on repeat even after just hearing it for the very first time. I have countless versions of the songs from artists of all types, from opera to metal, and in half a dozen different languages. I will love the music foreverrrrr.

I will say one bit about the stage show... I have seen it twice, once in my home state and once on Broadway in New York. I loved the experience but I unquestionably prefer the 2004 film above all else. The show has a totally different atmosphere, much more gothic and frenzied. The movie is more sweeping and visually beautiful. But... There is absolutely nothing like being at the live show, when the curtain drops, and seeing The Phantom come out to take his bow, and smile for the first time, right in front of you. Even if the show is over and you know it didn't end the way you want it to, there he is, smiling and happy, finally. It's lovely.
