I could confess to anyone but I'd still need someone in the Apostolic Succession to absolve my sins.

It is very different from Catholic confession in several ways, there is no confession box we either stand at the front of the church in front of an icon or in a side room but there is no divider between us. Also Catholics see a different priest every time where as Orthodox stick with one confessor who becomes their spiritual father. Because we have the same confessor we don't just give a sin list, it is more of a conversation where we talk about sins that we are struggling with and the confessor gives advice on how to deal with them.

My favorite month of the year is September, because its my birthday.

I think it would be unwise. I think a better use of the money you would spend on the trip would be to give it to charity organizations in the Middle East who are helping refugees and a better use of your time would be to advocate for allowing more refugees to come to America.

Well, I am strongly considering a mission trip to help the refugees done by a Ministry that has made many successful trips so far. Next month would be the training for that.
