I have not heard of that, is it a book or?
I think contemplative prayer is good, I approve of mystical experiences. I practice contemplative prayer in the form of the Jesus Prayer.

I just finished Amends by Eve Tushnet, it is a fictional book about a rehab reality TV show that delves into themes of redemption, alcoholism, and God.

So, you do mystical prayer like the New Age cult? Isn't that occultic, and specially since there is no scriptural basis for it?

No, I do not do it like New Age people do it, I specifically differentiated the way I practice it from them in that I am not seeking to empty my mind. No, it is most definitely not occultic, I am not using hidden knowledge or calling on demonic spirits. I think we're probably operating off of different definitions of mystical, so let me clarify. Mystical means an individual's direct communion with God. So when I say I am practicing mystical prayer I mean that I am seeking direct communion with God through that prayer. I believe that Scripture is full of basis for seeking that.

Yes, it is a book/devotional. Some people absolutely love it, and others think it is related to New Age ideas.Eleventh Doctor wrote:I have not heard of that, is it a book or?
What do you think of my definition and MF's definition of "Worldly" in the Bible?
What do you think being "Worldly" means? Is it physical things, or actions?

I'll be honest, I have no idea. I think if we practice discernment and humility then we are not of the world. But I don't have a good definition of worldly.

You never post in Chatter in the Booths. I thought I could say my bold opinions about college without you ever finding out.
How do you sense debates in out of the way places?
Do you enjoy debating people even though they will never change their mind?

Favorite restaurant, really depends on my mood. If I want some cheap & quick food I'll go to Taco Bell, if I want something a bit nicer I'll go to Nado's which is a roasted chicken place, my really favorite restaurant though is this place in Williamsburg called Food For Thought.Paula wrote:What is your favorite restaurant?

OK, so I am not going to jump to conclusions here. Can you clarify what kind of RPGs you create?
I hope they are not occultic like D&D. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon ... troversies And why is this game linked to suicides?

They are like D&D, which is not occultic. The game is not linked to suicides, as the article you linked to actually said there was reporting that said gamers actually have a lower suicide rate than non-gamers. D&D is not connected to satanism, in fact the creator Gary Gygax was a Christian. The descriptions of the games in the Jack Chick tracts are totally inaccurate, whatever they're playing it isn't D&D.

What do you think of this group? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swordsm ... ica_(SAGA) You see nothing occultic here? Look at the titles of their works.
