Hey, take the praise. You deserve it.
There really is no one who can word things like you can.

I don't really know. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that my dad is an absolute nutcase about computer security and won't let us do virtually anything unless it's either supported by a legit server (i.e. Wikipedia, YouTube, social networking sites...basically anything that isn't really sketchy) or has been pre-approved by him. (He used to work as a software engineer where part of his job was purging viruses and making other corrections to the system, so the extreme diligence isn't entirely unfounded.) Add to that the fact that my iPad is literally a mess half the time I try to use it for things it's not used to, and the likelihood that I'm going to be on the chat is very low. =/Miss Friendship wrote:How come you never get on the ToO chat?
(Plus, chat formats aren't really good platforms to be as verbose as is my custom.

Too bad. Every time we have debates there I miss you.
Why don't you play Mafia?
Which topic do you feel the most comfortable debating?
Do you like to fly?
How many states have you been too?

YAAASSS. I love flying! I love being so high up in the air above the clouds and seeing everything from a totally different perspective. It kind of puts me in a worshipful mood sometimes, because it allows me to see a small part of the vast expanse that is the earth God created and reminds me of just how huge the world really is. I remember being on a flight when the sun was about to set on a really nice summer day and the cumulonimbus clouds were really high; it was absolutely gorgeous, with massive fluffy columns of gold and coral with a backdrop of light blue.Miss Friendship wrote:Do you like to fly?
(I really like encountering turbulence; it's like a rollercoaster at 36,000 feet!

Why are my mean/rude comments different? Because I am always rude? Because that is my natural state? Because I am just an immature child and don't know better? Because you ignore my posts and couldn't say either way?

Yeesh, that's hard. So many guys here are at least two years younger than me.

At any given point, probably all of them.Mandy wrote:What topic to debate makes you the most worked up?

You care about your friends and want to see them treated fairly. You value your relationships with God and with your family and want to keep them healthy. You're also a bit sheltered, which impacts your understanding of certain topics when debating. You also really like kids, for some oddball reason.Mandy wrote:What is your honest opinion of me?

Just because? Since I was little. In attempts to improve and get more serious about drawing well? For about six or seven years.Samantha14 wrote:How long have you been drawing?
I enrolled in my high school's advanced art courses my junior and senior years, and I'm actually going to college to study art.Samantha14 wrote:Did you take art classes? *Can't remember*

I've heard some of it, but I'm not really concerned one way or another. BatB isn't really one of my favorites. (I did hear some good stuff about Cinderella, though.)Samantha14 wrote:Have you seen any of the news for the new Beauty and the Beast live action movie? @.@ It looks so amazing, but I'm also scared they'll ruin it like Cinderella >.> <.<
Personally, I'm more excited for Disney's upcoming animated films—Moana and Zootopia. They look so good! Oh, and did you hear about the Tangled animated series coming to Disney Channel in 2017?
THESE ARE THE REAL QUESTIONS I LIVE FOR.Samantha14 wrote:What do you think Trandy's wedding would look like?
I'm thinking something relatively small. Mandy does her absolute best to make sure that Dreams by Constance isn't involved (she hasn't quite forgotten Eugene and Katrina's second wedding) without hurting Connie's feelings. Liz as well as Mandy and Trent's respective mothers play vital roles in ensuring both the wedding's success and Mandy's continued sanity.
Mandy is too small for her mother's dress and wants one of her own, and while Liz is more than happy to go shopping with her best friend, Mrs. DeWhite is overjoyed at the prospect of splashing out on her future daughter-in-law (living in a house with three men—one of whom is Jared—will do that to you). The dress is bright white and strapless with a sweetheart bodice and an empire skirt, and she wears a pair of silver three-inch heels with it (for practicality's sake—try as she might, she cannot fix the eight inch height difference between her and Trent).
The wedding party is as follows: the bride and groom and their respective parents; Liz as maid of honor, Marvin as best man, three of Mandy's closest college friends as bridesmaids; Alex, David, and a good college buddy of Trent's as groomsmen, and...some random small children of some connection to them as flower girl and ring bearer.
The guest list isn't particularly long; in addition to a few of their close friends from college, they invite Whit, Connie, Eugene, the Washingtons (Tamika sings during the ceremony while Kelly plays the piano), the Hortons, the Jeffersons and Cal, Jared (with whom Trent is honestly not close enough to make a groomsmen, but who takes the liberty of checking for wires in the boutonnieres anyway), Sarah, Bernard, Edwin Blackgaard (who may or may not have cast his romantic plays with an agenda in mind), and the bride and groom's respective extended families.
Mandy staunchly refuses to walk down the aisle to the traditional Bridal March—it seems too clichéd to her. Instead, she walks down to a lovely instrumental version of "It Is Well", which she feels is reflective of the need to have a Christ-centered relationship that stays healthy and whole whether times are good or bad. Trent insists that they stick with the traditional vows, not trusting himself to be able to adequately articulate just how he feels (or not to collapse in awe at Mandy's ever-poetic language). He doesn't cry when she walks down the aisle, but he does have a really dorky grin on his face at the sight of her.
The reception is also a modest affair, with Marvin and Liz tag-teaming on toasts primarily for the purposes of poking fun at their two favorite idiots. The dancing is very classy and sweet...until Alex and David get ahold of the playlists. The bride's cake is a triple-tiered vanilla number, but Mandy is a bit preoccupied with the groom's chocolate-iced double chocolate cake.

Trent and Mandy honeymoon in a cabin at Trickle Lake—nice and quiet with a lovely view. In a lovesick haze, they agree that all of the stress and money were worth it...until they find out exactly what the bill is, in response to which Trent observes that they should have just eloped. (Mandy doesn't disagree.)

Hey I loved reading your imaginings of Trent and Mandy's wedding!
*smiles wryly after reading Tiger's opinion of her*
So you remember our first debate, huh?
Actually I have never really liked little kids that much, I just believe what I do regardless of how I feel about it. I have changed my views on it quite a bit since then tho.
If you could write the next album for AIO, what would it be like?

Do you think children should be sheltered from unhappiness?

I'd integrate the previous generation of Odyssey kids into it. Trent, Mandy, Marvin, Alex, Liz, Tamika, Grady, Kelly...I'd want to show that Odyssey has moved forward while still having a place for its past that doesn't involve torpedoing a ship, and I'd want to show that Odyssey is a place for kids to grow up into adolescents. I'd definitely have them interact with the current generation of kids—I especially want to see what a Kelly/Buck friendship would look like.Mandy wrote:If you could write the next album for AIO, what would it be like?
Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman, I think. I was feeling a little nostalgic. =)Miss Friendship wrote:Last movie you watched?
No. For one thing, if I have to lie for them to keep them from facing jail time, that would indicate that they are guilty, and that they should be brought to justice—to try to impede just consequences for someone's actions is unthinkable to me. For another, that would be perjury, which is illegal.Miss Friendship wrote:Would you be willing to lie to a court for a close friend if it meant saving them from going to jail for life?
Not to the extent that they should be lied to or are never allowed outside, no. But I think that parents are responsible for knowing what their child can handle—a ten-year-old is, by and large, more emotionally mature than a six-year-old—and for allowing them to experience life for themselves.Miss Friendship wrote:Do you think children should be sheltered from unhappiness?
