The Kitten
The kitten shivers in the cold,
it's body racked with fear,
that far too early, far too soon,
her end is coming near.
A large mother cat comes,
and the kitten tries to hide.
But the cat has not come to hurt,
the cat has come to guide.
She wraps herself around the poor kitten,
And licks the kitten dry.
And she promises the kitten,
that she wont let it die.
The kitten smiles slightly,
and licks the mother cats face,
and thanks God for the cat,
and thanks Him for His Grace.
The mother cat looks at the kitten,
and smiles very brightly.
Loves the kitten with all her heart,
and takes care of it daily and nightly.
One day when the kitten is finally grown,
the mother cat says gently,
It's time for you to go on your own.
I've served my purpose the right way.
The kitten gives one final kiss,
to it's adopted mother so dear.
And goes to it's new home,
It now has nothing to fear.
