Paula's Random Thoughts
Very good, Paula! I like it.

I literally have no words... except, THAT WAS AMAZIN'!
Here's a poem I wrote about the past and how we choose to address it. If any of y'all are interested in checking out my blog, you can click here =]
Scars
The past is a choice
We can’t alter it
But we still have a voice
Our pasts are very different and
Are sewn with our own actions
Some of us are pleased with ours
While others find to be less than satisfaction
The past is what was,
But is now non-existing
But some of us aren’t grasping
That truth and are resisting
See, society is taught to read the
Description of a person’s past and let that
Define who they are…
When in reality that person’s past is all but a scar…
A scar that brands us and reminds us of what we’ve done…
That causes us to see ourselves as shameful
And each time we’re reminded, we run.
So why must we press on those scars
That have been done with and healed?
Why open up our pasts
When they’re already sealed?
Why do we allow ourselves
To claim our past as our future
And erase the chance of starting off new?
What we need to see is that if we live out our lives
While dwelling on the past, our future will become
What we could not overcome.
We can run as far away from our past
As we dare do, but somewhere along the lines
The scars will poke through.
The past will never change no matter how much we try,
And it’ll always be there like the blue in the sky.
The past is done and set and we need to face that fact,
But that’s where we’ll stop this back-pedaling track
The past may hurt and
The wound may still be present,
But we still have a voice on our future
And what will represent it
We can look back to our past
And see the consequences and pain
But that’s where we’ll start…
That’s where we’ll gain.
The past can serve as a tool of learning
And can shape our future by turning…
Turning away from the life
That let its past define who it was
And taking a step forward
To soar beyond hopes end
Not letting what you’ve done in the past
Or what you will do in the future
Cause you to bend
Just simply being who you are
Being the light in the darkness
Being a star…
A star that will
Shine to the future
With hope and expectations
Until your dream is fulfilled
And your past…A story
Of overcoming life’s scars

Wow... *The FEELS* Thank you so much for sharing this amazing poem Paula!!! It somehow has gotten better than the first time I read it!!!!!
What is forever..? I shall see you again. Just after the mist has faded and time has stopped, over on the other side. Enjoy your journey and I'll enjoy mine.
So I just recently watched the Cinderella movie and I absolutely loved it There were so many good quotes and deep meanings but the one quote that really grabbed me was this one:
“To be seen as we truly are, is the biggest risk we will ever take. Will we be enough as we really are?”
Who we are as people, not a name, not a profession, not even what we wear or say, is truly what will define us and course our lives. If someone drowns out who they truly are...They'll feel less and less happy and to me, masking our true selves is the root of in-security's. In this day and age Society will make us feel more and more in-secure about being ourselves, that people will willingly sacrifice everything about them to "fit in"(to be accepted). Anyway...I hope y'all enjoy this poem! It's a little more Fairy tale-ish then I like it, but I think it's perfect for a poem inspired by Cinderella xP
Only if you have the courage to be seen as you are
Nothing more nothing less
Not pausing to question yourself
But only to take each step with courage
To smile with kindness
And to see the world not as it is…But rather as it could be
Because that is truly what the courageous are meant to do
And what the genuine will continually strive for
It only takes courage, kindness, a bit of magic
And the leap of faith to stay true to your heart
Because after all…
That is truly what brings the fairytales to life

Keep writing girly
Keep writing girly
Thank you both
Don't ever give up
Even when things turn south
Giving up won't make you stronger
It'll only make your weakness last longer
Keep your eyes on the gain
And not on the pain
Because you'll never know how far you can go
If you stop at the first signs of thunder
Remember that the hard times are what break us
And form us into something even more beautiful
And sometimes we may just need to break off our old ways
To make room for the increase and the growth
So, whenever you're feeling like raising the flag
Just know that no one's worth giving up on
Especially yourself ❥

So here's a little something I wrote this morning! It isn't exactly a poem, but I thought I'd share it since I've left this thread abandoned for a while xP Anyway...Please enjoy Don't ever give up
