Gab asked me to put this up, and to explain I will just say that this is a modified version of her song. I helped her out with the structure, but is still her idea incorporated in the song. The work is definitely still open to helpful criticism, so please post your thoughts on it! I'm thinking, right about now! I am thinking as I cry.
Why would the king of the universe Die?
He left the perfection, the heavenly eternity!
He did not do that just for me!
It was for everyone that he died at Calvary!
He loved me, He loves me, He died for me!
Oh, I think, and say aloud to my friend,
“He died that we could live with Him in the end!”
“These things did happen, he died for me, he died for you,
All these words are very true!
Believing in Him is what we should do!”
He loved you, He loves you, He died for you!
I try to convince her, but she does not believe,
The word of the Lord she is not ready to receive.
I think a little farther, I open my mouth and say,
“Though we have sinned and cannot measure up, though we did disobey.
He has given grace that we may accept today!”
He loved us, He loves us, He died for us!
How can we thank the lord of lords for this great gift?
How can we thank Him for mending the rift?
How can you thank a man who has died when He was the Son of a King?
I could never measure up, but would spread His word, I would worship and sing!
Again I began to tell my friend this wonderful thing.
He loved all, He loves all, He died for all!
My friend opened up and accepted His word.
She believed in the sharp to edged sword!
I sang to the Lord! I rejoiced and praised Him.
Through the word my friend's soul did Christ win!
When life would be gone we would meet again in the place without sin!
He loved me, he loves you, he will forever love us all!
