Tithe

Post

For the last few weeks, I've been trying to find a new church. I went to one this morning and the pastor discussed how he tithes.

He said that 15 years ago, him and his wife decided to tithe 10 percent of all they had because that's what the bible commanded us to do.

But, I believe, because that was said in the old testament, it is not law now. Yes, it is important to tithe, but we are no longer bound. Thoughts?

Eh, in the OT, People gave more like 30-50% of their income actually if you look through all the tithing rules. 10% is the bare minimum what the poorest people would give and some more really. Paul give the order to give as we are able. However, its also a form of worship and very important. I say that 10% is the minimum of what we should give now.
