We manage somehow.
I don't really see a universal command for each couple to have as many children as possible. Yes God says be fruitful and multiply but that seems more of a directive to us as a species, which we've done. There are places in the world with serious overpopulation issues and others with food shortages. Seems to me like we'd be bad stewards of our resources if we keep having children at historical rates, especially now that the infant mortality rate is so low and life expectation are so high.

Okay, there is so much ignorance and hate surrounding the Duggars, but they are just wonderful people! They were the only folks around who had guts enough to stand up to the Kardashians and defend God's design for gender! They are wonderful people of God, any any hate directed at them is ignorant hogwash.

Was he or wasn't he a kid?Eleventh Doctor wrote: I'd have to disagree on he was just a kid, 14 or 15 is too old for this kind of stuff to be written up as just a kid.
Of course he should have.Eleventh Doctor wrote:He should have known better at that age.
Yes, that's disturbing, as is the whole affair.Eleventh Doctor wrote:I notice that your post like all the official statements from the family make no mention of his victims. They seem to be getting ignored in all of this, even if he was just a kid his victims were much younger.
So, you think there's a limit on the amount of kids people should have even if they think they are called. Very well then. How many kids do you have, sir?Eleventh Doctor wrote:Actually PF the reason to have lots of kids comes from the idea that you need hands for the farm, girls to marry off for their dowry, and to make up for the high infant mortality rate. There's no reason in our modern society to have 19 children, however recent that idea maybe it's still a legitimate view.
Sorry, but ad hominems are all I have time for. Dinner. More talk later.

PS, Ooh, I'm one of four kids. We must be abnormal. And one of aunts has seven, she must uber abnormal.

Did you just call someone else a species??? Are you trying to infer something?Eleventh Doctor wrote:We manage somehow.

Umm did you even read the article? He was sexually abusing his sisters and other young girls. The parents knew this and covered it up. How is that wonderful?
No, I wasn't trying to infer anything except to refer to human beings as a group using the proper term.

For one, I am thinking Bill Cosby. On the other, I am thinking Kurt Busch. And on the middle finger of the Kurt Busch hand, it dosen't suprise me that you would read a blog like this.Eleventh Doctor wrote:Bumping this because of recent news: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/lovejoyfem ... eport.html
Have you heard about this? What do you think about the situation?
And that it's feminist.

Okay, how many should you have according to the Bible?
Dredge: What do you think the connection to Bill Cosby is? I have no idea who Kurt Busch is. I don't usually read that blog, I simply thought it was the most through and sourced account of the incident around. You still haven't addressed the fact that this wonderful family covered up pedophilia.
Hogwash? He and his family have admitted this happened. http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/21/us/josh-d ... index.html

Wait a second... I just took a cold, hard look at your gender icon. Then I looked at your mod status. Then it all came clear. His parents teachings are FINE! You ate a walking insult to Christians everywhere!Eleventh Doctor wrote:The show needs to be cancelled, he is a product of his environment and he is not this way despite of his parents teachings but because of them. Both his parents knew about this and did nothing. This family should neither be put on display nor shown so they can be emulated.

And where is this "cover up" you mentioned. The girls could have told if they felt like it.

No, the thing says none specified because I never filled out that part of my profile. That's an interesting assumption to make though.
I would hope lack of knowledge about NASCAR doesn't discredit me too much.
The girls were 5 or younger, they were victims, they did tell their father that they were being abused, and he did nothing.

Not trying to be insensitive, but the way you are stewing in a way unfamiliar to us Latinos is kind of funny... bye.Eleventh Doctor wrote:No, the thing says none specified because I never filled out that part of my profile. That's an interesting assumption to make though

You're doing a very good job for not trying.
I have no idea what's so funny about that, oh well.
As for the girls, you never addressed that point. I think it's insensitive to the greatest degree to everyone in the world to lay the blame on girls who were under 10 when this happened. As though they had a responsibility to tell everyone. While you excuse the actual pedophile and the people who sheltered him from any punishment or in fact any real counseling or help.

Help! All that nonsense you spewed forth about a respectable family (They're straight, you wouldn't understand), and then blame the parents! And then! Counseling? Counseling where Josh would sot around and listen to the parents pour out their hearts without really regarding him?Eleventh Doctor wrote:You're doing a very good job for not trying.

If you would be quiet for a minute, and apologize for acting so bratty, maybe we could civilly debate.

What nonsense did I spew? They've admitted in public to all of this. (I'm straight, my family too, not sure why that matters though)
If you read the accounts the elders at the Duggars church suggested counseling to help him and the Duggars refused. What do you think should have been done?

Okay... bratty is a term I usually hear after a long workweek when I've had six doughnuts. Butting in while the grownups talk, now that's bratty.GabrielleFandomGirl wrote:If you would be quiet for a minute, and apologize for acting so bratty, maybe we could civilly debate.
