No, but since you're in a position of power, you should place extra emphasis on having a good reputation with the people you're governing or moderating.

I want power, this is the best way to get power. Why would I not audition? I have now been or am currently a mod/admin on all three of the AIO boards.

Yeah, I cried once when a mod (or maybe an admin I don't remember) corrected me.

I remembered you telling me about that, and there was no need to cry over it. You inadvertently broke the rules, and an admin gave you a gentle reminder. That's what they're supposed to do. Are you trying to make a point in saying that they shouldn't enforce the rules at the risk of hurting someone's feelings, or was that just a random post?
Oh yeah, and congratulations, people. All 3 of you deserve this honor more than anyone else on the board I can think of (I might not be just saying that). Be careful, though. Soda Shop politics is a risky business. Not that I would know...
