The long awaited AIO movie was confirmed at the One Grant Party Live Show. The said it will release in 2 years along with a 13 episode TV series. This will be animated, but aside from that, not a ton is know and nothing has been said other than that by FOTF or AIO.
**AIO = Adventures in Odyssey
** FOTF = Focus on the Family

This is really great news! Even if Odyssey fought as hard as they could to preserve it, the loss of Will Ryan ended an era. I'm really excited for Odyssey to do something new. The original animated series was a big part of my childhood, and even though I know it was a bit controversial, I still enjoy it.

Funny you should say that, seeing as Will was in every animated episode except Race to Freedom. yeah, it was a bit controversial (or even a little cringy at times) but as I've said before it was 'A Stranger Among Us) which introduced me to Odyssey. What I loved was the dynamic between Connie and Eugene, as well as the darkness of the plot.

I know they said that one of the reasons Will would be so hard to replace is because you only have audio, which is true. However, they replaced Whit several times in the animated series and although it was different, it did still kind of work, as you had the familiar face. Although it's unlikely, if they got the right actor then maybe Eugene (or even the whole Meltsner family) could still appear, even for a short cameo.

i think the biggest question at the moment is, will this be canon to the audio series, or another separate timeline. at this stage, given the success of the comics and Byte sized stories, I'm thinking it might be canon, but more like in the style of "Elsewhere in Odyssey" rather than "Adventures in Odyssey".

Good thoughts, dj. I was actually introduced to Odyssey through the Animated Series as well! I remember being SHOCKED to my core when informed that Eugene was married in the audio series. Haha, good times!

Personally, I'd prefer the new animated series to not be canon. I think it would give them more creative freedom. :)
