First Ever ERK Contest!

Hi guys! It’s time to get this contest officially started. Here’s how you do it
1. Find or make something Emily related to post on this page. An Emily drawing you did? Something green? A photo you found online? These are all just examples. Just find something you think has to do with our wonderful Emily.
2. To submit, simply post it on this page saying why you think it’s like Emily. EG: “This green sweater reminds me of Emily because, well, duh-uh.”
3. Deadline: APRIL 15.
4. Oh, one last thing. No Emily haters getting are allowed in this contest. That would be just stinky. (“This Nazi reminds me of Emily!”) Emily haters, stay away or suffer monkey consequences.

Now this is the kinda thing it’s easy to think you’ll do… and then not. So come on, show your Emily spirit and, most importantly, be creative and have fun

Well, Sammy... that person could be made an exception, if it's someone I really, really like. You could enter one of the drawings you've already done, or send me a link to an online pic or some such that reminds you of Emily. If neither of those options work, just pm me.

My first submission:

I think this represents Emily in the sense that 1: Emily is a Christian (the bible) 2: She is a detective (the magnify glass) 3: And she is beautiful, inside and out (the rose.)

Well, you see, it's just her. I'd try and explain why, but *sob*, when thinking about all she means to us, I....I just get so emotional.

To outline the rules a bit more precisely Renae:

Find something, anything at all, that reminds you of Emily. (Ahem, in a positive way.) If you have made something yourself that you can somehow relate to Emily, then that's most perfect. However, you can also simply Google to find pics, videos, poems, and drawings that remind you of Emily. For instance, you could try googling, "green sweatshirts" "CD editing" "child detectives" "The Pirates of Penzance" "chili recipes" "Christina Pucceli", to name just a few examples. Bottom line: post something, almost anything, with an explanation of any length how it is worthy to be linked with the beautiful and wise Emily.

Entries will be judged on:
1. The number of ways in which the subject is related to Emily
2. Quality: this is not a huge issue, just avoid things like noticeably grainy photos

3. Uniqueness: we're looking for inventiveness here. The more imaginative you are, the better. Basically, try to do something unusual and unexpected, or clever.

Finally, winners will be notified at the closing of the fifteenth.

Liz, that was an excellent first entry, thank you. It was a lovely picture, and you had very sweet thoughts on it.
Connie, thank you for that entry as well. It's charming. That's what Emily shall look like when grown. I bet, if Matthew doesn't in fact have a crush on her now, he will then.
