Who here likes VeggieTales, or watched it as a kid?

Well, guess what. Your lives are about to be ruined.

The are changing the design of the characters... D:

They're slowing releasing how the characters will look on their facebook page:

Well, the company went bankrupt, and had to sell out, so I guess maybe thats why...

That was several several years ago, but yes, VeggieTales is owned by Dreamworks now.

However, they do have a video of one of the co-founders (voice of Larry), speaking about how the change was decided upon.

I don't mind them either. I was kind of like, they're not that bad. Not so different you don't recognize them! That would be bad. I'm just not sure why they had to redesign them.

To be honest, if I hadn't grown up with Veggie Tales, they'd be completely fine. But just looking at that...that's not Bob. That's not Larry. They're fine as far as designs go, but they're just not the characters I've always loved.
And vegetables should not have eye colors.

Vegetables shouldn't have eyes to begin with.

I get what you're saying—I don't always care for when my favorite characters get redesigned, either. It doesn't necessarily feel like what you always knew, and that bothers people. I don't tend to like change myself. But VeggieTales was a huge part of my childhood, too, and I actually really like these designs. I don't like them any more than the old ones, but I'm totally okay with this new look.

I know that Clubhouse Magazine releases VeggieTales stories.

This theme song is for the Netflix spin-off and it won't be the regular theme song. Just so people know. Also, when seeing the actual animation, it doesn't look as bad. The eyes are not good though. =p

It's a slight change in animation, this would probably have happened anyway even if the original creators were still running the show. By this point they're using different animation tools and working with a completely different team. I think people are getting caught up on the wrong thing what you need to be asking yourself is if the message of the show will change now that Dreamworks is writing the stories.

Well VeggieTales hasn't been under Christian ownership for 10 years, so I wouln't be too worried about them suddenly changing now. =p

You're right, Wakko. They do look better. Although I still think the eyes look off. Maybe I'll get used to that. Bob and Larry also look pale, but that could just be me.

That's true, War Doctor. I haven't seen recent Veggie Tales, however, so I'm not sure if the current message is good or not.
