I GOT MY PERMIT. So happy to be out of that DMV. Seems everyone there drank their anger juice that morning.

I remember going to get my permit. It was at around 3:45 on a cold December afternoon in 2012, and my grandparents drove me because for whatever reason, neither my mom nor my dad could. I went in to take a number, but they were full for the day, and so I just decided to walk out like "Whatever, I'll come back next Monday". Well, my grandfather—my 88-year-old irascible watches-Fox-news-and-tries-to-rope-my-dad-and-brother-into-political-discussions-at-Thanksgiving grandfather—starts yelling at the policewoman about how "We drove all this way for my granddaughter!" and I was looking around the room, seeing all the people (some of whom I knew) watching the whole thing and wishing I could just sink through the floor. I turned and walked out of the building, muttering about how I would attempt to salvage what was left of my dignity, when a man came out and graciously gave me his number and said he'd come back another time. So I got my permit and celebrated for the rest of the afternoon.

It took me about 4 times to get my permit... >> Then when I finally got it, my card picture looked terrible because I hadn't expected to get it, so I hadn't done my hair or anything, but then I got it... And I looked terrible xP I was so glad to get my license so I could get rid of that awful picture

Yeah same here. Pictures never turn out for me. My permit was passable, but my license?? I hide it in my wallet.

I for the life of me cannot stop smiling when I get my passport/healthcard picture done, so both of them are of me with this weird twisted trying-not-to-smile-but-still-smiling smile on, which apparently is ok.

What? I thought you seemed way older than that. I am the same age... almost sixteen. I am going to get my permit as soon as my birthday rolls around. I wonder how my picture will turn out. probably very terrible I'm guessing.
