I'm afraid I've never really gotten into the steampunk fashion. Though it is a rather interesting style.

Well, with me it's a lifestyle. I understand if you're not into it... it's cool you even know what it is... a lot of people are like 'eh?'

I've heard a little about it, and often thought how cute an outfit like that would look for my dolls, but I'm not really interested in making an outfit for myself or anything, since I don't really know a whole lot about it. :)

I've always thought it was awesome. I don't totally deck myself out in it, but if I could, I would wear more. I kind of mix and match, you know?

Though, I absolutely positively NEED these shoes.

I pulled this up from Wikipedia:
"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery,[1] especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Therefore, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. Steampunk perhaps most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era's perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or the modern authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld, Stephen Hunt and China MiƩville. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of such technology as lighter-than-air airships, analog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine.
Steampunk may also, though not necessarily, incorporate additional elements from the genres of fantasy, horror, historical fiction, alternate history, or other branches of speculative fiction, making it often a hybrid genre. The term steampunk's first known appearance was in 1987, though it now retroactively refers to many works of fiction created even as far back as the 1950s or 1960s."

What started as me talking to Sam about making a steampunk outfit for my dolls turned into a planning session of making an outfit for myself.. I have a few pieces that I'm going to modify and plans to make/buy the rest of the pieces. I'll keep you guys updated on the progress. :)

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about this. :D

Not the best, but it gives you a general idea of what I'm going for. I have the white ruffled shirt, and the light brown underskirt, they just need some slight modification. :)
