Re: End of the world

Yes, all at once. What signs from Revelation do you think are specifically happening in the last 100 years?

Re: End of the world

Yeah, those things have all been pretty constant throughout history.

Okay cool, go out and share the Gospel then!

Re: End of the world

Sure but there have been hurricanes and fires before. Let's redirect this a bit, let's say you knew with reasonable certainty that this was the End Times. What would you do differently?

Re: End of the world

You think natural disasters are a recent thing?

My point has always been that since Christ left people have been positive that He was returning very soon. We should live our lives like He is but saying that "this" time is the "real" time is ignoring history.

Re: End of the world

I just mean before people have said that Jesus is coming back but the disasters that made them say that where just in one country now its all over I would dispute this, back in the 1200s Genghis Khan conquered most of Asia and part of Eastern Europe as well. Black Death spread over entire continent...

Re: End of the world

So your argument is that because it's all in America that makes the second coming more likely? Or are you saying the world wars are part of the reason Christ is coming back? I'm confused The Rapture is a 19th century idea that says before the second coming Christians will be taken up in a sudden fla...

Re: End of the world

I'm not claiming to understand Revelation, I'm saying that the Rapture is not a scriptural event.

Re: End of the world

You are correct Penny

Also the Rapture isn't found in Scripture and isn't a thing that will happen

Re: End of the world

I never said I didn't believe in the Book of Revelation. I just said I don't think what we're seeing now is indisputable or even "70%" proof that the end is coming. Like I said earlier, times when 50% of Europe were dying seems a lot more like "the end" than now. But like I also ...

Re: Eleventh Doctor Q&A

It's a fundamental misunderstanding of God that attempts to confine Him to our standards instead of realizing He is transcendent.

Re: End of the world

Historically there have been many times people thought it was the end of the world. Look at Black Death where a plague killed 50% of Europe's population. The 1918 Flu Pandemic that killed 5% of the world's population, right after World War One, one of the worst wars in history. Historically I don't ...

Re: End of the world

This is not a unique time in history and people have always thought the 2nd Coming was near. What if you are wrong? How would you know? I agree with MF so how do you explain the signs form revaltoins? I'm not even convinced that Revelation is about future events. But in any case, are you saying we ...

Re: End of the world

I mean it's a historical fact that people have always written about the 2nd coming being near. My point is not that we should ignore the possibility of the 2nd coming but that our lives shouldn't actually change all that much. We should be living a life seeking after holiness no matter if we think t...

Re: End of the world

We won't know the day or hour so no point in guessing. Live like the Kingdom of God is at hand and leave the worrying to others.
