Re: Random Chat

Seafood is actually despised by a surprising number of people (fortunately, I am not one of them). I just finished a paper on the 1960 Presidential election, which strikes me as being the most fascinating election in American history, mostly because both of the candidates went on to become American ...

Re: Who do like better, Zach or Gunnar

I believe he did, TOJ. In fact, I know he did, since I recall that The Ties That Bind was my first exposure to the "new" Matthew. As for my preference, I prefer Zach, just like everyone else.

Re: What Books Are You Reading?

I read Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It was one of his easier reads: interesting, and a bit amusing (though of course not laugh-out-loud funny, because, c'mon people, it's Shakespeare).

Re: God's Not Dead

Yes, but the professor's so-called "counter arguments" are arguments that the vast majority of atheists wouldn't actually use. I seem to recall that his first argument depended on the logical fallacy of "Stephen Hawking is an atheist, and he also happens to be the world's greatest sci...

Re: The Soda Shop top posters

This is among the most awesome topics I've ever seen on the Soda Shop, so kudos to you for making it TS. I'm also liking your predictions, particularly the one that says I'll be No. 2 in the next couple weeks. :P

Re: Last Movie you Saw

Whiplash. Fantastic movie, though it had absolute non-stop cussing, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone on here. It had a terrific score, and I loved the ending. JK Simmons won a much-deserved Oscar for his role as the tyrannical jazz conductor (who, incidentally, is the source of much of the cuss...

Re: Imagine Dragons

I listened to their new album for the first time today, and I was somewhat impressed. The epic guitar solo during "Hopeless Opus" completely caught me off guard, and it was one of the few moments on the album I can remember with clarity (though that's totally biased, since I just generally...

Re: The SS' Tumblr

I apologize. I saw a post that I found amusing (not because I agreed with the post, but simply because of the context, the meme, and the sarcasm), but it was stupid of me to post about it on the very topic that the post was insulting. I'm still not entirely sure what this topic is supposed to be (I'...

I watched Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat and the original Batman. And the Oscars.

lol, my new favorite post. I'm considering putting it as my signature, but I feel like it'd only be funny in context.

Re: Imagine Dragons

I bought their album like two and a half years ago before anyone had even heard of them... just saying. 8) Still, I have by no stretch of the imagination remained a "devoted fan"... in fact, I haven't heard a single one of their new, post-Night Visions songs.

Re: Paul McCusker "moving on" from Focus

Hmm... this is pretty big news. I too will be sad to see him go, but I have no doubt the rest of the team can manage without him. I wonder who will step up to take his place as the main writer for future albums...

Re: The K.R.E. (Klub Rules Emily)

I attended a party A great grand old party On St. Patrick's Day 2014 I arrived somewhat tardy Yes dreadfully tardy And my lateness made me crusty and mean Until lo and behold A prophecy's foretold In the form of Emily For she's attending this party Not the least bit tardy I approach her and she smil...

They're sure as heck not taking over the world with Disney Channel. The demographic for these programs is basically 9 - 11 year old girls, unlike their movies, which can appeal to just about anybody.

Re: The K.R.E. (Klub Rules Emily)

As a sharpshooter in the days of old I ready my arrows and bow Perched on a tree waiting for Emily Or perhaps just some unlucky schmoe A full day's work offers little reward And I'm ready to pack it in Until I hear a loud obnoxious squeal That elicits from my face a cruel grin Verdant sweater and ex...

Re: Book Klub

I didn't "take control". I just offered a list of possible books since no one else would, and it was decided very quickly that that list would be the poll. I haven't been incredibly involved since then, anyway. You guys go ahead and Wrinkle In Time, and I will bow out once again, since I'm...

Re: Jessie

I have only seen brief clips of the show, but the ones I did see I found stupid and unfunny, like all Disney shows. I don't know what you mean by bad messages, though... It seems to me that the problem with Disney Channel isn't bad morals (other than the fact that all the parents are portrayed as di...
