Re: The Rapture..

Right. I'm sorry I was unclear about That in earlier posts. I believe the rapture can take place anytime.

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

So why don't you think it was 6 literal days, especially since it says there was evening and morning, one day? Genesis is historical. It definitely isn't poetic. It is an account of God as Creator. If you believe in evolution, why isn't it happening now? And why did only some apes evolve into humans...

Re: The Rapture..

11th Dr: I know this one's a little while ago but I've decided the second coming is not the rapture. It is when Christ comes to signal the millennium, if you believe in that.

Re: The Apparel & Adornment of Women and Men

Not to go off topic, but do you believe that we no longer have to keep the Ten Commandments? No, it's A very good thing to keep the 10 Commandments. However if we break one of them we won't have to pay the same sacrifices as the Jews in that time did. @mr York: all of the Bible is written for us bu...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

I see now where our problem lies. I thought you believed in evolution, but this is really more about 6 literal or figurative days. Do you believe the fall of man happened after these 6 "days"? Also if you don't believe in 6 literal creation days, how do you know Christ rose from the dead i...

Re: The Apparel & Adornment of Women and Men

All I can say is that we are under Grace and not the law! Christ died so that we don't have to wear weird clothes or not cut our hair or whatever. Most of the verses mentioned here are from the Old Testament which is from the law.

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

I never said Revelation isn't profitable, I said that trying to interpret it as a literal account of the End Times and trying to figure out exactly what will happen is generally unprofitable. I mean what impact would it have on your life to know how the world will end? But there are plenty of thing...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

I have no idea, I haven't studied it deeply enough to have a real opinion and there are other things I could be studying that would be more profitable. I looked at the context more and you're right that's it's talking about the Bible. But again, figurative things can be true, something does not nee...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

Figuratively means using descriptive language to make a point, literal does not mean true. I think that's where our misunderstanding lays. I think the book's writings to the seven churches is very valuable and I think it also gives us valuable guidance in regards to worship. I think it's using figu...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

We have to deeply study the Bible to determine what parts are figurative and which are literal. But are you really saying you take the entire Bible literally? I mean what about the Psalms? You cited Psalms 119, earlier in that chapter the writer says "My soul clings to the dust" & &qu...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

Every part of the Bible should be taken literally? Even Revelation? A confusing book if ever there was one, are you saying that book is straightforward? You're not God and you can't pretend to know what God means by repeating something twice but you do know for sure that God meant for the Bible to ...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

You say it's one account yet we see the same actions repeated. Genesis 1:26-27 "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping t...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

The book of Genesis has two instances of God creating man so if we're taking everything as exactly literal what's up with that? You also ignored most of Arnolds questions. Genesis has one account, but tells it within two Chapters. Before we go into th whole literal thing,Genesis is history, not poe...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

NateVONGreat, are you basically saying that the Bible is your science workbook, and the only source you'll ever consult for science? If so, that's an extremely silly and close minded thing to do. The Bible is God's Word, the living, breathing voice of God, and the ultimate text on how to live our l...

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

So, I got to thinking about this topic and evolution. If someone believes in evolution, what will God's involvement in their life be? Since evolution is random with no apparent design, do individuals have a purpose for their life? Is God in control if He didn't create the universe? One problem with ...

Re: Once Saved always Saved?

But what's the point of repenting if we're just going to heaven anyways? Telling God you are sorry and making it right with him. When you were little and stole a cookie from your mom, you probably repented. It makes things right between you, but if you didn't repent, you weren't considered to be an...

Yes it was.
I'm not sure what you meant by 14 days...maybe I didn't see that part. :). But if it's truly in there God definitely meant it. What verse?

Re: Creationism or Evolutionism.

I don't see anything wrong with Answers in Genesis. I for one decline the rule. I decline the rule as well. Listen up! In the Bible in Genesis, it said there was evening, then morning. One day. (This is how the Jews count their days). Literally. Evening and morning doesn't take a thousand years. Th...
