Re: What is a Hero?
Of course Peter Kreeft would say that the Saints are to be venerated because they reflect God's goodness, truth, and beauty. If you were to ask Kreeft he'd probably say the Saints are the real heroes we should be emulating.

Re: What is a Hero?
Something to point out about Captain America's patriotism is that it's not a blind loyalty and he's willing to point out when America and SHIELD are doing wrong. He was against the massive surveillance craft SHIELD/Hydra built, he stood up for his friend Bucky, and when asked to go against his convi...

Re: Doctor Who?
That's a fair point, I wish they had portrayed the Christians as accurately as they did with Hindi and Muslim beliefs in the episode about the partition of India and Pakistan; which was one of my favorites of the season.

Re: Doctor Who?
A couple nitpicks, Yaz doesn't use a gun as a police officer because the vast majority of police officers in Britain don't use guns and the Doctor has always been anti-gun. As for the Muslim issue they had an episode where they talked about the many killings during the partition of India and Pakista...

Re: Debating Catholicism
Okay, I agree with that but we clearly disagree on what God says so what went wrong? Are you saying there's no possibility you're mistaken?

Re: Debating Catholicism
I'm not editing what Jesus said, I'm saying you're not Jesus so don't presume to be the sole source of truth. I'm interested in having a discussion and if you're not then just say that.

Re: Debating Catholicism
Jack Chick is not a good source for information. He makes a lot of false claims and doesn't do his research. I used to read his tracts too but when I actually started talking to other people and reading primary sources his arguments fell apart. I don't recall you winning those arguments, you claimed...

Re: Debating Catholicism
I will jump in and add my 2 cents. Here is a rather morbid article with adult content talking on the sexual abuse cases: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-44209971 I sit in my chair while I read this and shutter almost crying as a read this article. In a place filled with such evil, I would not consid...

Re: Debating Catholicism
Catholics would say they go to Mass for the same reason you go to your church service. It's the same, it's not work based Salvation it's living a good Christian life.

Re: Debating Catholicism
Mass is a work, let me ask you this; do you go to church? If so do you have to do that to go to Heaven?

Re: Debating Catholicism
If the Catholics and the Protestants are all working together to cover up the truth about this one "ex-priest" then they seemed to have solved the Reformation. I did cite the book of James, faith without works is dead. You still need to show me that Catholics say you need works to get into...

Re: Debating Catholicism
So you claim Catholics believe that you get to heaven by works. Can you cite official Catholic doctrine or Catholic theologians that say that? I used to believe this too but then I talked to Catholics and learned that wasn't the case. Catholics believe, like St. James says, that faith without works ...

Re: Debating Catholicism
Why don't you actually look up "Father" Alberto and discover that he's a con man who made up these things? You're doing a poor job of not offending Catholics by claiming they are satanic. If you're actually interested in discussing these things let us know and we can go point by point of y...

Re: End of the world
I've explained it by saying there have been natural disasters, war, disease, and famine throughout history. But my more important point is if the change you're going to make is spreading the Gospel then good for you! Don't worry about whether the world is ending or not.
