Re: The Soda Shop's 11th Anniversary!

All I have to say is, even with how quiet the board is now, I still expected even just slightly more posts in this topic than just the OP and one response. The show is still going, so members still have new episodes to discuss, but I guess people have moved on to bigger and better things! I'm still ...

Re: The Bookshelf

Gah, I'm in the middle of too many books. Climate Change: What Everyone Needs to Know by Joseph Romm. Spring by Ali Smith. Existential Physics by Sabine Hossenfelder. Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope. And the last book I completed was As You Like It by Shakespeare.

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

Greetings, ERK. Ok, some news: I am writing, on this our tenth anniversary, with peanut buttered fingers to announce I am stepping down as president. Thank you all for ten years, it's been a ride. I am leaving big shoes to fill. Well, Polehaus53 is the man with big feet. I'm sure you'll agree I coul...

Re: Ask Pound Foolish for no Charge with a Ten Dollar Purchase

I don't write books, but I write short stories!
I enjoyed the Tinker Bell movies from Disneytoon studios. They were better than they had any right to be. I also love the Peter Pan film. My Tinker Bell fanboy has calmed down quite a lot, but I respect the character and those films.

Ukraine

One fears for the thousands of Russian protestors arrested. One feels terrible for the Ukrainians who are living in fear, and one feels for those who have lost loved ones. Thousands have died, including hundreds of children, Ukraine officials suggest the true figure is 15,000 Ukrainians dead as a re...

Re: The Only Movie You Could Pick

Pride and Prejudice 1996. Most movies annoy me after I watch them after the first time. Pride and Prejudice never grows old, its timeless, its a classic and its peaceful. I could watch it forever. And Colin Firth. :inlove: https://media2.giphy.com/media/srg19CG0cKMuI/200w.webp?cid=790b7611902b4426c...

Re: RWBY

My siblings are obsessed. They plug a computer into our tv and finally induct me. They assure me the animation gets better and I'm thinking, "It can scarcely get worse." Those shoulders made of a bunch of angles are offputting. But I warmed up to it. At this point, yes, I'm a fan! I love t...

Re: Movies

That movie was an excellent comedy. When the villain physically backed Abby Johnson up against the railing and proceeded to give her the, "How could you, after all I've done for you- I made you!" villain speech I howled inside. And when she went on to say, "abortion is our fries and s...

Love classical, from symphonies to concertos, especially the impressionist period. Dvorak is my go-to, but Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Handel and all the rest are my idols. Also a high-five to TS. My other favorite genre is pop. I love it just as much. Adele, Ed Sheeran, Swift and Bastille are some favo...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

Yeah, Emily is very flawed. She gets on people's neves and hey, if she annoys you then well, you're not liable to like her. But I like how, as often as she snaps at people, as pushy as she is, she's hardworking, friendly, funny, confident, and above all, smart. So at least when she's pushy, she's of...

Re: Snow Day! Best episode ever, or should have never been m

I've slid back and forth. It has funny bits, but it really is just a lot of running around and yelling. Throw snowballs, yell and run, throw snowballs, yell and run some more. You definitely have to be in the mood.

Re: Movies

1. People didn't want a new King Arthur movie. 2. The people who did wanted a more traditional Arthurian film. 3. The trailer sucked. I have the feeling that most of the people who actually saw it liked it, but not enough people went to see it. I wanted a King A movie for sure. Sadly, we got anothe...

Re: Agnes Riley

Yeah, I heard it online and I'm a bit underwhelmed. I enjoyed it, sure. But I liked the music they started with, but no, the old bait and switch. I also really like the unique 40s-50 style music they had the rest of the two parter, but it's more conservative, very much the kind of ultra-wholesome th...
