Re: Odyssey Guilty Pleasures

I always found the scene in "Nova Rising" where Bernard is talking to the writing staff for B-TV hilarious in a bizarre way.

Many of the very early slice-of-life episodes strike me as stupid, yet still I enjoy most of them.

I'm indifferent to Mamma Mia. Wretched Sinner was the one who said he liked ABBA.

Re: Favorite bands

They (Radiohead) are certainly an acquired taste, and their biggest hit just so happens to be an abrasive, profane reflection on self-pity, but I find much of their later music to be uplifting in its sheer beauty, particularly the albums OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows.

Re: Republican Presidental Debate

In this past debate, I was very impressed with Marco Rubio, pleasantly surprised by the performances of Chris Christie and Ted Cruz, and somewhat underwhelmed by Ben Carson (he didn't say anything wrong, nor did he make himself stand out). Clearly, America is in a bit of a quandary, since 2016 is be...

Re: Ask Arnold

I never finished the Chronicles of Narnia. When I was young, it was rare for me to finish even the simplest of chapter books in a reasonable time, so I would often stop in the middle, discard the book, and pick up something else. I am happy to say that now, in my old age, that habit has died away. P...

Re: Ask Arnold

If you could go back and talk to a famous historical person, who would you see and what would you talk about/ask him or her? You mean I can only pick just one? :P Here's five, in no particular order, along with reasons why I would want to meet them: Socrates -- Just to potentially see the Socratic ...

I used to play a lot, and, hopefully without sounding too pompous, I consider myself to be a fairly good chess player.

Happy 19th birthday (Gosh, you're old. I seem to remember you being 15 when you joined, though I'm probably mistaken.) to Metal, loyal Emily hater to the end. :D

By the way, PF, are you 20 yet?

I didn't make a "stab" at you, at least not intentionally. And while it's true that some of the debating users (including myself) could be a bit more sensitive to users who aren't as used to debates, you can't just go onto a debating topic, make a post, and then expect not to get any repli...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

I officially challenge ERK to a contest. Each klub will have to submit a piece of Emily-related art, and the overall artistic and persuasive quality will be judged by a neutral third party. I was thinking we could choose the art-form from one of these categories: Drawing/Painting Poem Short Story So...

ROFL.

I would agree with Kili, though, I don't think Jared was referring to the pirated episodes.

I would agree that that's the most logical stance you could take on this issue, and I'm pleased to see you didn't berate me for my somewhat shocking questions (though I don't know about how some of the other users, including Mandy, will react).

Yes, the amount of trolls to join recently has been very disappointing. Still, it's comforting to know that the amount of non-troll accounts (probably) outweighs the number of troll accounts. :D

Re: Why Do You Think God Created Us?

Yes, but as Sixth Doctor so rightly pointed out in the Atheist Q and A topic, doesn't that make God a bit of an egomaniac authoritarian? If God was perfect to begin with, why does he need us? Just as a way to confirm his own omnipotence to himself by watching us give glory to him? In the end, what d...

Hey Aftershocker, I know you've been searching for a way to get out of this dump of a klub ever since you joined, so... don't you think it'd be way cooler to be in KRE? 8) We have assembled a team of expert poets to write verse after verse of odes to hating Emily. We're even working on getting a tea...
