Welcome Back, Jason!
Jason Whittaker
returns home after Missions Work
Jason Whittaker will be arriving back in town
this weekend, after an extensive trip through Asia and Africa. Formerly a
government employee, Jason felt the call to missionary work a couple years
ago. He is working with the Universal Press Foundation, which was founded by
his father John Avery Whittaker. Whit told us, "Jason has been meeting with
different leaders, both in tribal and metro areas, to plan outreaches
through local radio programs. Our goal is to broadcast Christian radio
programs in the languages of the people. Last time I spoke with Jason he
felt the meetings were going very well, but he's anxious to come home for a
little while."
Apparently, others in Odyssey are excited about his return as well. Connie
Kendall is planning a Welcome Home Bash for the evening of his arrival.
"Everyone's invited," said Miss Kendall. "Just bring your favorite
international food-like french fries, English muffins or German chocolate
cake."
Jason will be sharing a presentation about his missionary journeys later
this month in the Little Theatre at Whit's End.
