I really liked this return to more of the traditional Odyssey mysteries. Although it's not quite Novacom or Blackgaard, it is definitely a good series. There are many aspects of this series that make it good, yet there are some aspects that are minor drawbacks.

First, the characters. Emily was not quite as annoying in this episode. I actually could respect her character. Her attempts to help were actually true help and not just an attempt for attention or matchmaking. Matthew helped save the day with his random trivia of trains, and his computer skills. He did seem a bit more passive than normal, but that's better than being overbearing. Connie main contributions to this series was taking the art class so that she could introduce us to Trask and Penny, and providing Biblical truths about deception. Wooten, as always, was a comic relief, as well as a help to the plot with his off-hand comments about the plans of the villains. The return of the two Whitakers, Jason and Monty, was good. I only hope to hear from both of them again sometime soon. Jay's part was excellent, although I can never really think of him as a bully in the sense that Rusty and Rodney were bullies. He tries to annoy the other Odyssey children from time to time, but he really has a good heart and can never be a real bully. I liked Detective Polehaus. His humor was so wry that I couldn't help but laugh. He reminded me in some ways of the security guard in "The Other Side of the Glass" who knew Whit's name when he was helping spy out the factory. (How did he know Whit's name, anyway?) And of course, there was Mr. Skint and Buck Oliver. Their characters did a wonderful job playing off of each other. Buck truly loved and trusted Mr. Skint, as though Mr. Skint were his real father. And I believe that Mr. Skint was truly saddened deep inside when he made the decision to leave Buck behind. I like the youthful, though mature, character of Buck, and I hope he will stick around to learn more about God and perhaps become a regular part of the Odyssey family.

Second, the plot was amazing. As an avid reader, I have come to the point that I can read the back of a book and tell you who's going to die, who's going to marry who, and who the true villain is, all because I am familiar with the basic plots that run through many stories. But the Green Ring Conspiracy was a little different. Every time you thought the "good guys" had enough information to catch the "bad guys," the "bad guys" were always one step ahead of the "good guys." I couldn't even predict what was going to happen. I couldn't even begin to guess. It was a nice feeling to not be able to guess what would happen. The ending was a little weak since after all that tension built through the prior episodes, all it took was a train crash to resolve most of the main issues. But I did like how the main issue was resolved, though leaving room for side issues to be resolved. Hopefully, in the episodes coming up, we will have these issues resolved, such as what becomes of Buck, Mr. Skint, etc. I hope that these issues will not be left to our imagination like has been in time past (e.g. Kelly and the Washingtons, Richard Maxwell).

Last, I liked the way the theme was expressed right at the very beginning of the series when Eugene explained that the point of deception is to look like the truth. Then, throughout the whole series, we were able to see object lessons, as it were, of this truth expressed. People we thought were good, were really bad. People we thought were bad, were really good. It showed how you can't always judge by the initial look at the cover of the book. Just like the Bible teaches, it is the fruit that reveals the heart. As time went on, we saw the true fruit of each person. I was a little disappointed that the main Bible teachings within the series stayed mostly near the beginning. I was proud of Connie. She gave the most Bible truth throughout the episode. She has really changed from the rebellious 15 year old that first stepped into Odyssey. I could only think, "way to go, Connie," as she challenged Trask and Penny, and stayed firm on her Biblical beliefs. For once, she could not be swayed from what she knew to be true in the Bible. I was glad to see her solid stand on the Bible. It was a good example for us.

All in all, I thought Green Ring Conspiracy was pretty good.

Wonderful episode! My family and I listen to the episodes on the way to the church, and we are on pins and needles waiting for the next episode to come out each week. I loved the theme of trust in this episode. It can be hard to know who to trust at times, and I really like the advice that Chris gave at the end of the episdoe.,The detective espisodes (like the Blackard series and the Novacom series) are my favorites! I like how the writers put in excitement with great lessons!,Oh, and having Monty back is so neat, and I love the character of Buck Oliver.

Wow! Well it turned out to be far more interesting then I thought it was going to be.....now that I've listened to the whole album of The Green Ring Conspiracy I don't mind the "Newer" Characters. though I will say they are definitely not as funny as the older ones but I think I can get used to them; Anyway., I feel like Odyssey might get more interesting as the albums go on. Overall it was a good album and I'd recommend it to any one who wants Odyssey to get back to ,"Its Normal old self".

(Spoiler Alert!!) The Green Ring Conspiracy is a great series that provides plenty of action and adventure. As always, Odyssey created a great action-packed mystery. I was very impressed by the quality of the album. I was really happy to hear Katrina and Jason again, along with all the other characters. It was very surprising to hear that Connie is actually taking a college class! She's growing up..... very slowly. :) It was also surprising to hear Monty and it took me a while to realize that he was a good guy. What a relief!! The train at the end was a real twist, which I wasn't expecting, but greatly enjoyed (but then again, you can't really tell what will happen). It was funny how Connie never heard of the plane crash or the bag full of money until later on. When does she ever get told these things until much later? Sounds like me! :) Also, Buck was pretty cool. I hope we hear from his again, along with Penny. I wonder if that's her real name...... Who knows, we could end up with another mystery! You never can tell with Odyssey.

All in all, a great album/mystery!

It was a very good, but not an A+. Yes I too think that the Nova com saga was the best ever, and compared to that, well here are some things that were lacking

1. It needed an element of fear in it (remember the secret room),

2. It didn't have enough suspense.

Things that were good

1. It took an entire album, (innovative, yet I still like having a mystery weaving through regular episodes that have hidden meaning)

2. Good length
