For some very strange reason this is my
favorite episode.

I must disagree with your review of this episode. The
Black Veil is definitely one of my top favorites! This may be because I
am the complete opposite of what you call a "get a dose of reality type
guy". My personality leans more towards the "expect the unexpected" with
a humongous, overactive imagination.
You say the idea that changing brain waves to radio waves
and visa-versa is hocus-pocus, but I don't see why not. Yes, our
"modern" science says it is impossible when considering wave lengths and
all that, but maybe we're just not smart enough to figure it out.
As for your comments about this being science-fiction-y, what's wrong
with that? Science fiction uses our imagination and rings us past the
every-day experiences we're used to.
The Novacom saga is not overbearingly long in my opinion. I enjoyed the
suspense and mystery; being able to figure how things link together long
before characters do is one of my favorite parts of mysteries.
Overall, I very much enjoy the Novacom saga and The Black Veil.
