\"alan_young\"Countless\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey<\/em> listeners have been impacted by the exceptional\u00a0talent that brings the show to life for\u00a0nearly 30 years. Actor Alan Young<\/a>, voice of Jack Allen<\/a>, is\u00a0no exception.<\/p>\n

It has never been one of our favorite tasks to announce the passing of one of the great voice actors\u00a0that make\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey<\/em> so great,\u00a0but it is with great sadness that we must say farewell to Alan Young<\/a>, voice of Jack Allen<\/a> since 1994.\u00a0Alan first appears as the friendly Jack Allen<\/a>\u00a0in Gone…<\/a>\u00a0This era\u00a0marked an interesting time for\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey <\/em>as Hal Smith<\/a>, voice of the original John Avery Whittaker<\/a>, passed away in 1994. Alan Young<\/a> was brought in, along with Townsend Coleman<\/a> (voice of Jason Whittaker<\/a>) to help fill the void that the show would now experience with Whit on an expedition to the Middle East and no return in sight. Alan Young<\/a> made his last appearance on\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey\u00a0<\/em>in Home Again, Part 2.<\/a>\u00a0In hindsight, his last episode of the show is very fitting as it puts perfect closure to his character.<\/p>\n

Alan Young<\/a> appeared in a total of 91\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey\u00a0<\/em>episodes, best known for his role as Jack Allen<\/a>. We are very thankful for Alan’s life and work, and especially for the positive influence he has had on the show’s listeners for all these years.<\/p>\n

Alan Young<\/a> is best known elsewhere for his role as Wilbur Post on “Mister Ed.” In addition, you may remember him as Scrooge McDuck on “Duck Tales.<\/i>” It is interesting to note that Alan Young<\/a> stepped in for his last role as Scrooge McDuck once again in 2015 for the animated show “Mickey Mouse.” Alan was 96 when he passed away.<\/p>\n

We believe his role as Jack Allen<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey<\/em> is his greatest role, though we are probably a little biased when we say that. We have been so blessed to journey with his character since 1994.<\/p>\n

Farewell, Alan Young<\/a>. Thank you for bringing so much heart and warmth to\u00a0Adventures in Odyssey<\/em>. Alan is gone, but not forgotten.<\/p>\n
