What are the writers going to do about the
situations the characters are now in? Will Connie ever go to college? Will Nick Mulligan ever become a
Christian? -Submitted

Good
question, John. As you probably know, Odyssey has a way of keeping its
listeners in suspense, even about the future of characters' lives. Take
Connie for instance. For years she has been trying to figure out what she
wants to do with her life, but eventually comes back through the door of
Whit's End and realizes that she's content with wiping tables and getting
her hands soggy in the sink. Sinks aren't for everyone, but Connie
definitely fits in with the plates. More questions arose when Connie was
feeling nervous about her future in Malachi's
Message, an episode about an
"angel" that comes to Odyssey dishing out advice. She was
wondering if she should attend college or not, but Malachi showed her
otherwise. And now Connie works at both the Timothy Center and Whit's End, a
large portion of her life spent as it is. Unless the AIO writers drop
Connie's work at either function, I don't see that it's possible for Connie
to go to college. Obviously there's the future. That's why we call it the
"future." It's the vast unknown that only God knows. Personally,
Connie doesn't seem like she'd fit into the college atmosphere, but it would
make for some interesting aspects on the show if she did attend college.
As
for Nick Mulligan, we've seen him in the past few years since he was
introduced in Just Say Yes, titled
appropriately for your question, John. Will Nick eventually say yes and
accept Jesus as His Savior, the only way to Heaven? Since his character was
introduced, we've seen that he is becoming open to Christians' morals.
Although his motives may be far from finding God (IE: trying to hook up with
Erica Colburn in Twisting Pathway),
we have seen his curiosity. For example, in Leap
of Faith, the Mulligan family's lives are in danger due to flooding.
It's in this moment that Nick realizes that something is missing from his
life and asks Mr. Mulligan to pray for God's protection. Even though he
didn't make a decision for Christ and still hasn't, we can see that God is
still there, tapping on his shoulder.
