It occurred to me that the characters of Lucy Cunningham and Mandy Straussberg have a lot of similarities. They're both the longest lasting member of their "generation" of kids, they both seem more mature than the others, they both often try unsuccessfully to talk some boy out of doing something foolish. Was Mandy intended to replace Lucy? -Submitted by Dr. Ichabodia
	Lucy Cunningham Schultz-Davis and Mandy Straussberg do seem to share some striking similarities, but Mandy was not created to replace Lucy's character. Each character has his/her own personality. Mandy might have been somewhat modeled after Lucy's personality, but she is not a replacement. I think the show would get boring if characters were created simply to replace previous ones.
