Before Album 51 came out, the
Odyssey producers felt it was time to update the look of the
character illustrations. We had seen the overweight version of Whit
for many years, along with the familiar images of Connie and Eugene.
The idea of redesigning the characters came at a good time when the
show was moving in a new direction. I think it would be safe to say
that changing the look of Adventures in Odyssey isn't the end
of the world. Most listeners picture the characters in their own
little way. That's what is so unique about radio drama. You
get to imagine the characters in your own mind... and that's what
really matters.
