New Year's Resolutions

As the new year approaches, what would you change about AIO? Is there anything that needs refining, any character development, anything?

I would like Odyssey to get back to good old Biblical teaching. Novacom was interesting, Connie and Mitch were fun, and the shallow topics have been... well... superficial. If only Whit would start giving good advice again, if only Connie would get herself into trouble that actually teaches us something, if only we could go back to the days where we could not only relate to the topics of the episodes, but we could also apply what we learned from them to our own lives. Even if Eugene came back, or if Mitch is really gone forever, if Novacom was erased from Odyssey completely, things still will never be the same. Odyssey had a sort of innocence about it, back in the days when it was rare to have a parental warning on an episode. Now, however, parental warnings seem to be everywhere. When the danger of having to grow into Odyssey is replaced with the danger of growing out of it, then things will be back to normal, and all will be well in our favorite little town. Will Odyssey ever be this way again? There's only one way to find out. Keep listening.

I would Just have Eugene come back. I miss him lots! I would also probably have more of Wooton and Mitch maybe. Mostly I just miss Eugene and want him back!

There definitely is something unique about AIO's older episodes compared to the new ones that makes me think there are a lot of things they could change, but I don't want it to stay the same forever either...I don't know exactly what I'd change, but I definitely do think that they should keep developing Liz and Mandy's characters (not to mention Jared, Trent, Seth,...) because everyone kinda has a new style that needs to be explored more diligently.

I agree with Emily. They should go back to bible teachings. I like the new ones but when I buy a album I go for the older ones. When was the last time Bernard told a story to the kids? Who about Whit? Why did they distory the Imagination Station? They should have more Imagination Station adventures. Connie is just not the same since Mitch came on the scenes. I just wish Odyssey would go back and do some Bible ep.

I need to hear Eugene!

I would start off the new year with a fresh start. A new baby should join AIO and it would be even greater if that baby was Eugene and Katrina's! Wow! That would probably show a lot of comedy with Eugene as a parent!

It took me a long time to decide what I thought about this. I think now though, that the main thing I would change about AIO is that they would go back to the counter in Whit's end, and that there, behind the counter, would be Whit, going straight back to the Bible, teaching from there. I truly feel like AIO has started to respond more and more to what the world would say they need to do. Obviously, AIO is anything but worldly, but you know what I mean. This turn has not only made it less impacting, it's gotten a lot cheesier too! I mean, sure, some of those very first episodes weren't the best, but they got better...and now they're getting worse again. Except, those first ones had a lot of meaning, (even if they were cheesy) but the new ones are cheesy and they DON'T have NEAR as much meaning to them. Am I making any sense? Good. OK, so, they've gotten cheesier, without meaning, and so that's what I'd change, I'd AT LEAST go back to cheesy with meaning, (although, only the very, very first ones were cheesy, I don't want you to think that I think that there are a lot of corny AIO episodes! No!) And so then, there's something that I've just kinda imagined...a thought for something I would like to see in AIO's new episodes; I think that it would be interesting if they would develop Nick's character better. I mean, we know (at least, pretty much know) that he's a Christian and all, but, what else? We haven't been able to see his character really grow in Christianity at all! So, I think that would be an interesting thing that AIO could do. So, I think that's pretty much it, and of course, anything and everything I've said could and probably did sound like I was majorly criticizing them, but I really do love AIO, and I can live with their mistakes. I'll get over it.

AIO needs some sort of Eugene wrap up even if it means Eugene not coming back yet. Connie needs to grow up she's sad.

As the new year approaches, I would change the "format." Odyssey needs far more character developement (Whit, Connie, Wooton, most anyone else) and to keep their characters (Mandy, Liz, etc.). We need to hear some fresh actors, some new action/ adventure/ mysteries, some fresh comedy and an emmotional show. Apart from that, Odyssey is looking up.
