Will Jason Stay Retired?

Just because she acted in that way in A Member of the Family does not mean she is unsaved. Not that I am excusing it, but she had undergone a divorce only a few years before. She hadn't entirely healed from that. She also felt bitterness with her father at how he dealt with her as a teenager, preferring Jason over her. (As you remember, this was a subconscious act of Whit that was triggered by Jerry's death.)

Also, arguably getting mad at someone else for spanking your child, ignoring you are against those parenting methods, overriding your parental authority. Yeah, that's fairly good reason to be mad. Jana was still rather too nasty. Just saying she still had a good reason.

I have no idea where this conversation currently is so pardon my laziness in not reading the last three pages.

I like the idea of having Jason around because it gives him room to be in more episodes. On the other hand, one role where I thought Jason really shone was when he was a missionary. He had his flaws and short comings, but it helped him grow as a character. I also really like his role now because he'll be used for more than a "save-the-world-sirum" that is injected in all the major story arcs. Placing him at the antique shop seems perfectly within his character, and his Dad could help if he ever has questions. I think that Jeff might be our "new action guy" with his mission work stories. As a pilot with missions it opens the doors for many story lines and Monty is an option as well. In the recent episodes Jason's role as at the antique shop has been used well. Personally, I want to see more spiritual growth from Jason and I think taking him out of the action will help with that.

Whit was his grandfather and he was in charge of Monty while he was there. And if there was anything that child needed it was a good loving spanking. Maybe it did give Jana a reason to be mad but I don't think Whit did anything horribly wrong.

I would possibly like to see him work as an undercover detective for the Odyssey Police for some amount of time. Just to give us a dose of Jason-awesomeness

Jason has far defied the odyssians who think his retirement is a short break stubbornly as he refuses to marry Connie. Do you think he'll once again get back in action, and do you like the way Jason's character has been his last few non-agent albums?

Excuse me, but Jason is likely in his early forties. I think that normal Jason will take some getting used to, but also that Connie should marry someone on her age level.

While I appreciate moral complexity in my protagonists, from a Christian standpoint, Jason has displayed some questionable-at-best attitudes that likely stem from the work he had to do while in the agency ("[Fighting fire with fire is] the only way I know how to fight", his attempts to play the hero instead of relinquishing control to God). I won't contest that Jason has grown beyond some of that, but we also see as recently as in "Home Again" that he struggles with being still and knowing that God is God for awhile, and the need for a thrill from action, again, is partially as a result from the adrenaline rush of his work in the NSA and even his missions work. As far as his development as a Christian is concerned, I think that actually settling down the way he's often said he wants to would help him to find some soul rest.

Connie can't marry Whit because of the age difference ew. She probably also can't marry Jason. I hope they get her involved with Jeff I feel bad for her being left alone. Is AIO afraid of love? When they do have a love story it is super complicated. Why can't anyone just fall in love? And what is with Jason having all these flings Tasha/ the girl in that one episode during the rainstorm with the joke about ducks and glasses/ and Monica and then we never hear from the girls again! I don't think he should go back to agency type work that is getting too repetitive. I like that he is at the antique store. I think it makes sense but I want to see more character development. Struggle and spiritual growth like when he was working with Jack at Whits End or even when he was a missionary.
