Ed Washington

Ed Washington is a kid in a man's body. For years, his official occupation involved working with a toy company to test specific toys on children to see how they react to them. He is a man whose life is never boring. Married to Elaine Washington, Ed has two kids: Marvin and Tamika, both of which keep him very busy. His wife Elaine supports his leadership in the home, and the entire family has some fun times along the way.

Currently, Ed is employed by Mr. Whittaker as the manager of the Whit's End in Connellsville. His high standards and good relationship with kids led him into the good financial position with Whit. Ed spends much of his time running the Whit's End and innovating his ministry there. As a former kid, he is able to communicate and connect with them with no problems. He knows what makes kids tick, and he is able to minister to them because of it.

Mr. Washington is best described as a satisfied father, enjoying each moment as it comes and living life to the fullest. He is an opportunity snatcher and doesn't want to miss out on anything. His friendship with Mr. Whittaker is strong. Mr. Whittaker and many others are able to pick out a hardworking, trustworthy man when they need one. Ed currently resides with his family in a house formerly owned by the one of the McAllisters.

  • Ed Washington is played by Mark Christopher Lawrence, who plays the zany father role well.

  • Ed first appears in an episode called The Toy Man, where we learn about his previous job in the toy industry.

  • He and his family are the only ones in Odyssey to ever star in an episode of a reality television show.
