Host of Adventures in Odyssey

 

 

"Hi, this is Chris! Welcome to Adventures in Odyssey!" was her favorite line on the show. "And now, Adventures in Odyssey" seems to be her current favorite. Either way, Chris Anthony has been on the show since the very beginning.

 

As the main host, er, hostess of Adventures in Odyssey, Chris is a bubbly, chipper, and energetic voice to welcome fans to the show. Her main purpose is to introduce the beginning of the show and conclude each episode with a moral and scripture application. In the early days of the program, the show started off with a small skit starring Chris. Each skit was usually something out of the ordinary, and there was always some sort of punch line to get the theme song started. Eventually, the format was changed and Chris was given a small role on the show. Merely introducing the show during the theme song, Chris stepped back a little and gave more time to the actual episode.

 

Now, with every single episode to her name, Chris could never be replaced. In more recent years, the AIO team has brought back some of her personality by allowing her to crack some jokes and even show the fans some bloopers from her acting career. Chris helped the team out by hosting quite a few "Odyssey Scrapbooks" over the years and behind-the-scenes features for the Gold Audio Series.

 

All in all, Chris holds the record for the most episodes. Because of her personality, she is the ones that a majority of Odyssey fans write to when they want to know something about the show.

• Chris originally carried the last name Lansdowne until she married.

• She has even played several characters throughout the series such as Mrs. Randolph, Aubrey Shepard's grandmother, and Horace McAllister.
