The W.E., Whit's new Whit's End, was
the beginning of their relationship. Mary Hopkins and John Avery Whittaker had no idea
what they were dealing with... or did they?
All of us know that Whit certainly
doesn't know what is happening around Odyssey, but what about Mary? Does she have a deeper
reason for building a new Whit's End in Connellsville than we all think? How is Mr.
Whittaker supposed to take this all in?
Mary Hopkins conveniently stopped into
Whit's End at a time when Whit needed her most. John had just finished the "new
look" for Whit's End. Many Adventures in Odyssey fans were probably thankful that
Mary dropped in to tell Whit that his older Whit's End was a timeless thing that no one
became tired or sick of. But when she began complaining and complaining to Whit in an
episode called "Chains," fans double-crossed Mary. Most AIO fans saw Mary
Hopkins as a wet blanket to the Novacom mini-series, me included.
Which also gets to me... Mary said that
she had been to Whit's End before. What is up with that? If that is the case, then why
didn't Whit see her come in to have a look around the shop a few months ago? Is Mary a
lier? Is she somehow linked to the break-in at Whit's End and this AREM fellow? Only time
will tell.
Looks can be deceiving. Yes, Mary seems
nice enough. She owns a children's bookstore called "Mary's Story Shop." But
what if that is a front to cover up what's really going on? I sure hope that Whit doesn't
become too attached to Mary, because I fear that AIO will have them get married. To tell
you the truth, Whit was better off with Margaret Faye!
As we all wonder and second guess ourselves, we need
to keep in mind that whatever happens could be a good thing, and a bad thing. I'm sure AIO
has some new storylines coming up with Mary Hopkins, the seemingly mysterious woman at
this time.
