Tuesday, October 29, 2002     Who Is The Mole... REVEALED!

Many, and I do mean many, people have been wondering and speculating on who the mole is over at AIO Mole. Well it's time to stop speculating and actually start reading the very end of the challenges. Three people were left: Jack Allen, Eugene Meltsner, and Jason Whittaker. Be sure to visit the last days of AIO Mole to see who the mole is, why the mole is, and what the mole has done to confuse the contestants over the past 80 days of betrayal!

Monday, October 28, 2002     AIO FAQ Needs You

This site hasn't been updated with new features in a while, so we need your help! If you noticed the link at the top of the page about AIO FAQ needing your help, then be sure to click here to ask me a question. I'll update the section when enough people have asked questions.

Sunday, October 27, 2002     Episode-Speak Contest

In case you forgot all about it, the Episode-Speak forum over at Polls & Forums for this month is nearly over. That means that if you're working on your entry, PLEASE submit it within the next week! I will probably expand the time to give you enough to get yours in.

In regards to the Eugene-Speak forum that is way back in time from now, Jared Walczak is rather busy with some projects, and it may be a week or two before he can post the ridicules. I know it's one of the most popular features here, so please be patient. I am having patience problems too!

The Schedule for this week is updated on the left sidebar.

Friday, October 25, 2002     "They're All Typing Their Orders In Their Booths"

It's not everyday you find out that an AIO site that you love is shutting down. Maybe it is becoming an everyday thing with the THIRD shutdown of The Soda Fountain, a popular AIO site around here. On October 15 the site was supposed to open up again, but things have taken another turn. The Soda Fountain has reached a record when it comes to AIO sites shutting down. Three times has never been beat, and I hope four will never be an option. The fans of the site have stopped visiting and now they're all typing their orders in their booths (The W.E.). But there is hope.

Shadowpaw, the site's owner, is toggling between a few ideas. He is currently questioning his website's design. Should the design go or stay? Also he's toying with the idea of starting a Radio Theatre fan site which may take a long time to complete. If Shadowpaw successfully creates a new design to the SF, maybe we'll get to sit at the soda counter again, but as it stands now, the Scoop, AIO HQ, and the almost-ended AIO Mole are the only things left.

On another note, I have updated the marquee at the top of this page (the Headlines), so read it!

Wednesday, October 23, 2002     Wonderworld & Lobster

If you're interested in the "Find Eugene" contest at the Official Site, then log into your Wonderworld account soon. I recently stumbled upon some interesting pictures submitted by a few fans. My favorite (pictured at the right) was a very creative approach to the contest. I didn't know that Eugene likes lobster!

If you just found out about the contest, why not participate? From the looks of it, only three people have participated, so the likeliness of winning is high. Also while you're at Wonderworld, read up on the FAQ's that have been answered. The Official Site hasn't updated for a while, so a lot of fans have probably forgotten about their accounts.

Monday, October 21, 2002     Jungle Jam - It's Back?

I know this isn't exactly AIO-related, but since it's kind of AIO-related I decided to post some news about it. If you enjoyed Jungle Jam and Friends: The Radio Show back when it aired on radio stations, then you may be pleased to know that it's back! It's not back in audio form - it's back in book form! I know, I reacted that way myself as well. I would have preferred the actual audio shows but I guess it's too late to tell them. A few books are now available from Fancy Monkey Studios (http://www.fancymonkey.com) and they might be currently working on Jungle Jam the CARTOON.

You may also be interested to know that all three albums in the series are now available on CD from Fancy Monkey. If you receive their newsletter then you have a chance to win some of these once each month, so if you haven't been receiving their newsletter, maybe you should be! You can sign up at their website.

Sunday, October 20, 2002     News You Can Use

Finally after so many months of not being updated, the News section has been updated. I added some vital information on a couple new Adventures in Odyssey products, two of which are available as of September and October. If you have any news that I can use to make it news you can use, please let me know and I'll post it.

Also today, I have updated the sidebar a bit (Do you like it or should I change it back to white background?) along with this week's schedule and the actual Schedule page itself.

Friday, October 18, 2002     Decision-LESS?

It's time to reveal the poll results from the past few weeks. This informal poll was conducted for my benefit on this page. The poll refers to AIO Wheel of Fortune, the game that is occasionally hosted on this website:

Scoop Mini-Poll: Would you rather have the Monopoly theme or just a normal theme as we did for months? [22 votes total]
Monopoly (11) 50%
Normal (11) 50%

Now isn't this interesting? Not only is the vote split right down the middle, but the fans all like both options. What are we to do? Well now we know that the fans like both, some preferring one way of playing the game over the other. That means that half are unhappy and others are happy. :( What should I do? I hope to host a new round of AIO WOF soon, but I was rather unhappy with the poll results. It's anyone's guess which is a better game method, so I guess you'll see which method I start doing in the future. If you have never played AIO WOF, be sure to keep checking back because the game's a lot of fun!

Wednesday, October 16, 2002     New Merchandise

Well, it looks like video number 4 in the new series has been released, the cover art that is. This information was recently released at the HQ:

The latest Odyssey video (#17) tells the story of the Underground Railroad. Written by Marshal Younger, it is loosely based on his radio episode about the subject. Instead of a person telling the story, however, Dylan and Carter take an Imagination Station adventure. Watch for the video in February 2003.

Personally, I have a feeling that the video will be rather cheesy, as most videos are. Considering that it's based on yet another radio episode makes me uneasy. Also considering that this is an variation of "Underground Railroad I-III" may give away that they will need to cram about an hour and a half's story into 25 minutes. That sounds like a real bummer to me. I'll try to update the News section and sidebar later this week. If you hadn't noticed, I updated the Press Releases column on the left sidebar with an updated version of the 500th Enhanced CD. I updated that somewhere around Sunday.

Sunday, October 13, 2002     Forum Awards 3 (FA3) Info

Yes, I must admit that it's truly a tragic state of affairs. Indeed, Jared Walczak is not yet finished analyzing and ridiculing everyone's Forum entrees for July-August's forum. Tsk... Tsk... I recently received an e-mail regarding this issue and decided to mention FA3. It's already midway through October and July & August entrees haven't been released! Now what's up with that?

Really now, there is a reason for Jared's so-called laziness. His many schedules permit him to work on only so many things at one time, and AIO Mole takes up a big portion of his time. So if you're one of those people who is getting sick of waiting on the FA3, then all I can say is be patient. Also I can say that I'll start nagging Jared about the awards whenever I talk to him.

I updated the Schedule for this week at the left in case you're interested.

Wednesday, October 9, 2002     What Happened to Virtual Whit's End?

Well how shall I put this? Er... um... well... the Virtual Whit's End Tour is currently under construction, however slow it may be. If you have never known what "Virtual Whit's End" is, today is your lucky day because I am going to update everyone on it!

The Whit's End Virtual Tour was first thought up by me and I told my cousin Caleb about it. Ideas started spinning in our heads and a plan took shape. We should make a virtual tour of Whit's End so that AIO fans can get a better understanding of what Whit's End looks like! We knew this would require a lot of work (and I do mean a lot of work), such as designing Whit's End in a special program that can produce computer-generated movies, rendering picture after picture (each picture takes approximately 30-45 minutes to render. Just multiply that number 20 times and you have a lot of work on your hands!), and designing the Virtual Tour website. Originally the plan had always been as follows: Caleb designs Whit's End with my ideas/thoughts, and I design the website when he finishes Whit's End. Unfortunately he never did finish Whit's End and thus, because of this, I never got around to designing the website. But please, don't think that "Virtual Whit's End" is over. It's not.

Thankfully, Caleb still has his desire to work on the tour. However, he has very little time for free time and designing a tour is time-consuming, as I told you. If you're wondering how far Caleb actually got into the project, you'll be pleased to know that just about half of Whit's End is designed. It will just take some motivation getting him to design the other half. The picture you see above is a sampling of the main room of Whit's End (the counter) that was designed. However, that is only half of what the graphics will look like, for Caleb has upgraded from Poser 4 to Bryce 4. Bryce 4 is mainly for backgrounds and scenery.

I sure hope I cleared up everyone's questions on this. If you're getting sick of waiting... I'm sorry. I might post some of the pictures my cousin sent me sometime. And if you're wondering when and if we'll ever see "Virtual Whit's End," all I can say is... "The best is yet to come."

Tuesday, October 8, 2002     Countdown Heats Up Lava Lamp Months

Yes, I am very proud to announce that we are down to only 94 days until the new season of Adventures in Odyssey. Right now it really doesn't seem like it's ever going to end, but don't worry. We'll all pull through! We'll all make it through The Lava Lamp Months!

In the meantime why not read up on AIO Mole? There are only a few contestants left and everyone's dying to know who the mole is!

Upon request, I will be updating everyone on what happened to the Whit's End Virtual Tour. What is the Whit's End Virtual Tour? Well... check back tomorrow if you were never informed about it! You'll be glad you did!

Sunday, October 6, 2002     Problems Fixed

Well, since you're reading an update for today then you can automatically assume that I fixed the problems with my computer... and I did! Hooray! Please note at the top of this page that the contact information has changed. Update your address books and buddy lists accordingly.

Today I was able to update the Schedule page, that being updated with everything that's playing this month through the 18th. I'll updated it as more information is released. Also the schedule for this week is updated at the side, along with some information on "The Best of Kids" which starts this month.

Friday, October 4, 2002     Jonah Now in Theaters!

I just discovered that I have a major virus on my computer, keeping me from doing what I need to do. I will be rebooting my computer within the next day or so, and we all know what that means. No updates. Everything... the website... all of it will be removed from my computer with the reboot and it will take some time to reinstall every program all over again. The likelihood of seeing another update this week is probably slim, but hey! That could change! So keep checking back. Thank goodness I made backup copies of the site!

On another note, today is the premiere of Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie! Be sure to support quality, Christian entertainment this weekend as you head to the theater! Visit www.jonahmovie.com for more information on the release of the first VeggieTales movie.

Wednesday, October 2, 2002     Poll Results - September 2002

Once again, it's time to reveal the results of the Odyssey Scoop Monthly Poll. Last month we voted on which child character should come back to the show... This month we voted on which adult character we want on the show again. Here are the official results:

September 2002 Poll: Which adult character would you want brought back the most? (47 votes total)
George Barclay (19) 40%
Dale Jacobs (10) 21%
June Kendall (10) 21%
Jana Whittaker (5) 11%
Joe Finneman (2) 4%
Bill Kendall (1) 2%
Anne Jacobs (0) 0%
Mary Barclay (0) 0%
Mr. Stevens (0) 0%

I was kind of expecting George Barclay to win. After all, he's one of the major characters that left Odyssey. I actually forgot who I voted for in this poll, so I guess it will always remain a mystery. Bad me. I hope to post a new monthly poll later this week. For now, why not try out that new Episode-Speak contest? We need all the participation we can get!

Yesterday I finally fixed that glitch on the Reviews pages. Now you can actually see all the ice cream cones when you read a review.

Tuesday, October 1, 2002     Facing the Past - Gazing on the Future

Well, the third to last month of 2002 has hit us, and the year is coming to an end. :( I archived all of September 2002's updates, so if you missed any recent updates check them out. As I mentioned yesterday, there is a glitch over in most of the reviews pages. I also mentioned that if you notice the technical glitch and be the first person to submit your ideas to me, then I would post your name on the next update. Well... I decided to change my mind a little bit and just name everyone who guessed the rather easy-to-spot glitch. So congratulations to the two fans who were brave enough to guess for us: Jared Walczak and Tracy (winning in that order)! Good job! You both guessed correctly in that the cones (review stars) don't appear on most of the site pages.

I hope to fix that glitch soon. That way you can actually see how I rated the episodes. Bad me. Be sure to vote in that new poll above because I need everyone's input!
