Thank You For Punching Me

 

I never thought I would be saying this in my updates, but I would like to thank Jared Walczak for punching me! Yesterday I was rather frustrated and confused, and my web server wasn't working, so Jared punched me over instant messenger, therefore I was scared of getting another punch, therefore sending me into a tizzy to get my site working again!

 

Guess what? It works again! Many people complained that the pages kept not loading. Well thanks to Joseph Paul, the Scoop will load forever and all will be happy! Be sure to thank Joseph Paul (DrBlackgaard) over instant messenger when you see him. HE donated 100 megs of his webspace to the Scoop!

Somebody Punch Me

 

That's how I am feeling today. PLEASE would somebody be kind enough to knock the daylights out of me so I don't have to think about changing servers? PLEASE! I am begging you! I have tried so many servers to get the Scoop running in the past few weeks but nothing seems to work.

 

What conclusion have I made? I now discovered that free website hosting is not the way to go. It's bad business. The companies out there are money-hungry and want nothing more than to empty your pockets of those green pieces of paper we all value so much. And another conclusion I have drawn is the fact that I, yes I, will probably end up purchasing some webspace. I've already got the .com, but no webspace!

Visual GuestMap

Yesterday I posted a new map guestbook which I would like everyone to sign! Head over to Guestbook or click here to go directly there. It's a lot of fun! Place a little picture on the map to represent where you are! :)

 

In other Scoop news, I have gotten many complaints that the site isn't loading. My server's not very useful because one minute it works and the next minute it doesn't work. Don't worry... I am looking for another server... again!

Extra! Extra!

 

Someone on the Town Hall informed me that my Forum Awards weren't posted. Actually they WERE posted but I had the wrong link posted in Archives. Everyone thank Eiram for noticing this problem! :) If you see any more wrong links or messed up pages let me know. I do know about the Chicken Soup section and its problem because I am in the slow process of editing the pages to change the link. Uploading is a real piece of work!

Today I have decided to sit down and write an Extra Extra article and have it done hopefully within the end of the week. Yay! I am actually writing an article! :)

Sign the Guestbook

 

Today I had a chance to change the look of the Guestbook. Yesterday it had a black background and today it has a white background. If you haven't signed the Guestbook yet why not sign it now and let me know what you think of the new site! Or if you have already signed the Guestbook, why not sign it again? I always enjoy reading your opinions and comments!

 

Today I might sit down with a pencil and piece of notebook paper and attempt to write a new article for Extra Extra. I was looking through it just now and realized that I haven't written an article in quite a while! People are going to start thinking that the site fans run the section! (in a way they do, but I'm the one who's suppposed to keep writing even if no one else writes one) You're more than welcome to write an article anytime you want! Please Read This Message

 

Because of circumstances I may not be able to update the Scoop for exactly one week. It's possible that you may end up reading an update or two during the week, so check back a lot. Who knows? Today might be the last update for one week. For all of you who like to talk to me online... that's a no-go there. I won't be seen. I will be elsewhere. So be patient this week. (My mom just said I'll have time to update EVERY DAY. So keep checking back!

 

Today I just got the site working WAY faster! Be sure to check out all the sections because it works way better than it did since the site opened.

Exactly As Planned

 

I finally found a new server to host my files! Yay! Things are going exactly as planned for me. This page loads a LOT faster now but the rest of the website hasn't been uploaded yet. I'm working on it.

 

Also exactly as planned, "Expect the Worst" airs today. I kind of heard it early online so I know what it's about. It's pretty good so DON'T miss it or I'll have to call the exterminator on you (Fifteen Minutes).

Technical Difficulties

 

Don't you just hate those technical difficulties? I do. That's what happened to me the other day. As you'll notice sooner or later, a great number of pictures do not appear when you view a page. That is because a folder called _borders does not exist in my web account and the account I am using is having some technical difficulties. The account will not allow me to create a new folder that should have the pictures, thus making them appear on the pages. Be patient with me. I will probably try out a new webspace service, but I WILL NOT go back to Geocities! Nobody should use Geocities because of the bad ads they host. Joseph Paul of AIOBC was nice enough to donate me some space. :)

Yesterday I sat down and decided that it would be the day that the redesign would be finished, and it is! I am now in the process of uploading to a NEW server because I have grown to HATE Geocities for all their unchristian ads. I'll probably have the new site ready by the end of the week. Yesterday I got pretty far on the new design for this site. But I discovered something. It's a painful process. Page after page needs edited, HTML'd, and lots more. If you ever start an AIO site you'll know what I mean when it comes time for a redesign.

Wow!

 

Yesterday I got in a website craze and came up with a new design for the Odyssey Scoop. Soon you'll be enjoying this site on a white background...ALL of it! I made a cool navigation bar for the site yesterday! I'm not sure when the site will be released because now I am trying to convert all the pages, insert rollover links, etc. More info will be posted at a later date.

New Logo...AGAIN!

 

In yesterday's update I said that I would be adding pictures onto the new logo. Well let's just say that I got a bit scanner-happy yesterday and decided to make AND post the logo yesterday! If you were one of the ones who were confused by this, don't be sad!

 

Soon I will be converting my website to white background. Isn't that exciting? I'm working on the new design right now.

New Logo!

 

I got bored yesterday and decided to scan the album, "Drive Time." Little did I know that I would end up using the scanned logo to design a new Scoop logo. The new logo you see above probably will only be around for the summer, if not less time. I'm not sure if I like it yet. I may be editing it a bit in the next few weeks, so let me know your comments on this at our Contact Us section. All opinions are helpful.

Entrees Processed

 

Well, yesterday marked the very last day to participate in our contest, which now means I have about one week to get them all graded and marked! Cancelled!

 

Isn't it just so nice when you find out that your last day of school has been cancelled? Well I'm sure that doesn't happen to often but it has happened to me! Today at school a positive announcement came over the P.A. system announcing that because of the baseball game on Friday, finals will moved up a day, meaning that they will now be starting this Wednesday!
