Chicken
Soup for the AIO Soul
All summer long, the Scoop's
artist has been cooking up a few things for you all to
enjoy. Now, after her long and grueling work, the Odyssey
Scoop is proud to present her latest creations! The
Chicken Soup for the AIO
Soul section now contains 8 more artwork, all of which
are very interesting. So head on over and check them all
out!
Edit:
I forgot to add two other images, so they're now up...
making ten all together!

Odyssey
Wallpaper
I cooked up two special
Odyssey Wallpapers for the
Wallpaper section
several days ago, and they're now up! I've uploaded two new
ones called "Url Grey" and "No Turn on Green." If you like
the wallpaper this site has provided, then you'll want to
check into those new downloads.
I've got something special in
preparation before I head back to college and this site goes
slightly dormant again. Keep checking back.

Fan List
Additions
I've gone ahead once again and
updated the AIO Fan List
with about four more names. If you've never signed it,
there's no better time than the present to do so! Also be
sure to read yesterday's update for exciting news about
Katie Leigh and a Scoop interview with her.

Connie
Kendall and Katie Leigh Speak!

As promised yesterday, a new
interview is up! I recently contacted Adventures in
Odyssey's very own Katie Leigh and she agreed to an
interview. She talks a little about her work, the Connie and
Mitch relationship, and even tells us interesting info about
her role as Connie Kendall. Click
here to head over to
the Interviews section.

Odyssey
Product News
You
may be aware that AIO will be releasing a special sampler of
The Great Wishy Woz
in October. But you may not know that a special
10-pack
collection will also be released as well. It will be a
great way to give Halloween participants something worth
hearing when they come to your house. Not only that, a Fall
Sampler with two other episodes will be released as a
special
20-pack for the same purpose. Click on those links to
read more information on the products and to see a detailed
Fact Sheet.
Also in the future, be looking
for the new Adventures in Odyssey: Kidsboro books.
I'm not sure when these books are planned for release, but
I'm sure we'll know soon.
Marshal Younger
is in charge of those. Album 47 of the mainstream series is
tentatively given the title, "Into
the Light." There's not much information at the album
page as of yet, but it'll fill up in the future.
As a side note, I have about
two or three more things cooked up for August, so keep
checking back for those updates!

Scoop
Summer Recap
As you probably know, the
Scoop has had a lot of updates this summer so far. For those
of you who are showing up a bit late and are not familiar
with those updates, here's just a nice recap of what's been
happening at the Scoop this summer:
-
Three days ago
AIO FAQ was updated
with ten humorous questions and answers!
-
David Griffin stepped out
of Pokenberry Falls to
talk
to us about Jimmy Barclay.
-
The
Episodes section was
updated with all the latest episodes and summaries,
along with several new "Episode Categories."
-
Sound Clips was
revitalized and expanded with five humorous commercials
and a special remix of an Odyssey episode.
-
Actors & Crew was
redesigned and now contains over 80 features on the
actors and producers of AIO.
-
The
Merchandise
section was expanded with many updates, including a new
product Quarantine section.
-
Odyssey
Sketchbook section
released over at the Misc
section.
-
New and improved
Newsletter section
with back issues now available online. Be sure to sign
up to receive your digital copy!
As you can see, that's just
the tip of the iceberg on this summer's updates. If you've
just dropped in, have a look around, find the Scoop, and
enjoy the site additions! I plan to have one or two more by
the end of August.

Questions &
Answers

How many reasons does it
take to get the Odyssey Scoop to get you to visit the AIO
FAQ section right away?

Ten good reasons. I'm pleased
to announce that ten new questions have been answered over
at the AIO FAQ section.
Fans have been submitting them for some time and I decided
to do some research and update the section. Take a look and
ask a question of your own!

Lost
Episodes Info
The
general consensus around the AIO internet world today is the
release of the cover art for the
Lost Episodes album. I
received information from a reliable source concerning the
album. Of interest to you may be the fact that Lost
Episodes will contain an extensive photo gallery of the
Adventures in Odyssey cast and crew on one of the
interactive CD-ROMs. The album will also contain special
introductions to the episodes by
Paul McCusker.
There are 17 episodes total, a change from what we had
listed in the past. I've updated the
Lost Episodes page with
all the details. The album cover you're seeing above is not
necessarily the final cover art. It may be temporary. Be
sure and learn more.

Update
As the summer slowly comes to
a close, I find myself making preparations for the Fall
Semester trek to PCC again. I worked through two
correspondence courses this summer and yesterday was my
first day of work at a machine shop. My first day on the job
I stenciled and painted labels on to large vats of flammable
liquids. I'm considered a "floating employee," an employee
who does odds and ends around the shop. I could end up
painting, sweeping floors, or running machinery. It's
proving to be strenuous work, but it pays well and I'm
excited to head back to college. I will miss updating the
Scoop in yet another one of its extended hiatuses, so we'll
see what kinds of updates we can get going before I leave.
Don't worry... the Scoop will still be online. The Scoop's
domain and files are all covered through 2009, so there's
nothing to worry about. Keep checking back for more updates.

Sound Clips
Expands
Today,
as some of you know from the
Town of Odyssey message boards, I am releasing something
very special. On Saturday, August 5th, I released a special
"Gifts for Madge and Guy Remix." Now I've added five
humorous commercials over at the
Sound Clips section! If
you like humor, you won't want to miss these odd and comedic
audio commercials. The commercials include:
-
"Go for the Cone"
-
"My Life Was Changed"
-
"My Favorites List"
-
"Luke Speaks Out"
-
"Where Singles Meet"
My favorite is definitely
"Luke Speaks Out," but I'll let you pick your own favorite.
I'm sure they'll make you chuckle. Go have a listen and
tell me what you think!
Edit:
I updated the Episodes
section with new categories:
Eugene and Katrina
Episodes, History of
Whit Episodes,
Connie's
Loves Episodes, and
Storyteller
Episodes. I hope to add one or two more in the coming
days.

Gifts for
Madge and Guy REMIX!
As
I mentioned in yesterday's update, I planned on releasing a
special new audio file. I revamped the
Sound Clips section and
added a special new sound byte, Gifts for Madge and Guy
Remix. It's very embarrassing, but I don't care. Go have
a listen and tell me
what you think! Ah, kids these days...

Gifts for
Madge and Who?
I may have mentioned this
sometime in the past, but I thought I'd mention it again
today. During the nineties when my sister and I were still
young children, we got an odd idea to go through
Gifts for
Madge and Guy and copy down the entire script. From
there we decided to re-create the episode from beginning to
end. So, using a karaoke machine, a microphone, and a junk
tape I bet you can imagine what resulted. Within the next
few days I would like to release this embarrassing episode
-- one of which my sister and I pull out every few years to
enjoy a good laugh. And you'll probably laugh, too! Keep
checking back.

Tally-ho!
This is completely unrelated
to AIO, but it is an exciting thing that needs to be shared.
Several days ago, my grandpa was on a boat in a river in our
area, attempting to pull a picnic table out to help the
city. Unfortunately, he lost track of things and headed
right over a nearby dam. A woman nearby happened to see it
and took a picture as he headed right down.

He bumped his head on the way
down, but the Lord protected him. At the bottom of the dam,
the woman went running for help as my grandpa stood on a
level rock. His boat was sunk and he swam to shore. The
rescue team found him walking along the side of a road and
took him home. We'll see what becomes of this photo. No
doubt the woman that took this could win some awards! If you
want to see a larger photo, just click on the photo or click
here.
