--When will Odyssey
address the issues of what is going on in America now?
I think it would help children understand why there is so much patriotism in the USA. The
many signs about united we stand and In God we Trust so on. It would be an excellent
opportunity for the show to show how our faith is helping keep America strong against
evil. There are many examples in the bible that could be used. Just wondering when they
may tackle this very important issue in 2002.

Wow, what a question! I have
just made the reference that what you are referring to is September 11th, 2001. I don't
work at Focus on the Family, so I don't really have a concrete answer for you. But I will
say now that Odyssey doesn't run on real time. For all we know, Odyssey could be still
back in 1998... or 2000... or sometime way into the future!
As a matter-of-fact, AIO has
addressed patriotism on the show previously, but not emphasized it all the time. I think
it would be really good if AIO addressed this issue in a way more often. Even if they
didn't do the 9/11 stuff, I think they should find a way to "hide" little
references to the event in the episode. Don't ask me how they would do that, but
anything's possible!
We all have been noticing all
the "United We Stand" posters and things. Isn't it funny how we waited until
September 11th to start saying that? Where was a patriotism one day before the terrorist
attacks? Where was God? Certainly NOT on a poster that says "God Bless
America!" We wouldn't even be allowed to do that in public places! There's a route
that AIO should take. Something to remind us of the freedoms we don't have as Christians,
and that Satan is out to destroy us. AIO needs to do something like this to "wake us
up," so to speak, and to remind us of the spiritual battle we're all up against these
days.
